I just did. Was working on my Marble Madness System 1 and all of a sudden coin door flew open and my cat jumped out. Turns out he made himself a little hideout in there on the shelf. I was a little startled to say the least.

My cats play in my project cabs all the time. Projects are in the garage with no back doors. Strange that they like it. Thought about making a beater cab into a cat house for them.

I lost a cat (1 year old but still small) for about 2 days thanks to my I, Robot which was in one of my bedrooms.

Came home and cat was missing, searched everywhere, no open doors or windows. I was flipping out. Occasionally for nearly 2 days I kept pacing and could swear he found a way to get into the walls. No meowing or anything, just an occasional "sneeze" is what I'd hear. In the room with my I, Robot and and I'm banging on the walls, looking around and inside the machine and nothing (I had back door off).

Finally I had an "OMG" moment pulled my machine out, and took the key to unlock the lower hold (where the Firefox laserdisc player would be stored on these cabinets) and wala, instant cat.

He crawled through the cable hole in the board area into the lower compartment. Got in, but couldn't figure a way out. Thankfully I found him, and other than being dusty, he was just fine. More or less had a look of "what's wrong with you guys?"

:D

I was unwrapping a new fridge in a customer's garage the other day and a kitten crawled out from underneath. Apparently there was a small gap in the packing material under the unit and it found a way in. I scooped it up and showed it to the other guy I was working with and said "I didn't know Frigidair was shipping these with new fridges now."

Yes. I too have a cat that's fond of hiding in small places. The second you put an empty cardboard box down in the house, you can be sure it'll fill up with cat. I'm always sure to reattach back doors to games, and even in the case of Robotron that's missing the upper door, I have a piece of cardboard tacked up there. I'm not so sure my fuzzy friend understands electricity, and I don't think I want him to experience it firsthand. He's definitely no stranger to helping repair computer equipment, however:

Maybe inside of a Reactor, you could find Schrödinger's cat.

I'm just happy your cat didn't get zapped! I'm always worried my dog is going to go up to the big blue and lick it when I'm working on the game...

yeah the cats get in my games all the time and the one with claws climbs on top of them as well

Games that are powered up can be deadly to cats. Someone on RGVAC found a mother cat and her kittens in a Timber - they were not alive. :(

(But honestly, when I saw "CAT" in all Caps in the title, I thought you meant an Atari CAT Box.)

No cats in my arcade machine but can't stand when a cat sprays inside one. I went to look at a game one time but turned it away because of the smell inside it.

This is embarassing but I'll relate it anyway.. :)

Many years ago We had some delivery guys deliver a couch to my
first apartment. The week prior we had picked up a new kitten. When the
delivery guys came I said make sure the door stays closed as much as
possible to keep the cat in.. (it didnt roam much anyway). So after the
delivery guys left I didnt see the cat for a while.. (this was a 1 bedroom apt
so where could it be) so I got concerned. I started ripping the place apart
looking for it. After a while I came to the conclusion that the delivery guys
must have took it!

I called them up on the phone like a raving maniac accusing them of
katnapping and animal sacrifice/devil worship. As they were totally freaking out
on the other end and trying to get in touch with the driver I was sitting on
the kitchen floor.. out from underneath the cabinets in hidden capartment..
the cat just walked out casually. I quietly just hung up the phone as my wife
began to make fun of me. I musta heard about that 20 times over the years.

So the moral is.. cats can get into spots you would never believe.
