Anyone ever deal with Mikes arcade?

I use to buy everything from them but had two problems when I ordered a Donkey Kong jr. control panel, populated and a Galaga control Panel, populated.

When the DKjr came it didn't fit the cabinet. When i asked them about it and sent pictures they told me it was fine when it was clearly to short on each end by a 1/2 inch or more.

The same order i had the Galaga control panel come in, also poplated. It had a 8 way joystick put in it! I was shocked as there was no mention of this on the website. So the CPO had four holes where the orignial bolts for the joystick would go for the 2way joystick. Plus the Control panel that was advertised as brand new wasn't as it had been hacked and had a hole where a button use to be. To make it worse they didn't weld up the holes they just put the CPO over top of the open hole. In time the CPO will have a hole where that button hole is under the CPO and who wants a Galaga with a 8 way joystick??? Also the CPO had a very noticeble flaw in the art work, a smudge i would call it.

I sent a nice email again with pictures explaining my concern and disappointment. They replied saying return it sorry we can't do business as we can't meet your expectations. I was hoping for a fix not a return, i kept the items and they sit in storage with misc arcade items i have.

I felt bad about how things went but i don't think my expectations were too high? They advertised NEW original control panels for DKjr and the Galaga, i thought i was getting new replacements as in Like, Kind, and Quality.

Anyways it wasn't horrible i was just disappointed in the products. I now buy everything from Quarter Arcade and have not been let down. I would do business with Mike's Arcade but would ask more questions before hitting the checkout button.

well crap, I was going to order that 2-in-1 jamma harness, but for the price they charge, I dont want to end up like that if theres a problem with it.

Yep, I've ordered parts from Mike many times and had no problems...well...one time he sent me a Pac Cheat chip instead of a Pac Speed-Up chip. He immediately sent out the correct chip and didn't make me send back the wrong chip. He has also repaired 3 PCB's for me and I have not had any problems with them since the repairs.

Mike and Kim are both great. I have made a bunch of orders from them and have had a couple of wrong items show up. After calling Kim she apologized and promptly sent the correct parts. When asked about what to do about the wrong parts, she just said "don't worry about it".
Those wrong parts have saved me from having to order them in the future several times.
I order from them whenever I get the chance.

I've had nothing but good luck with Mike. I bought my Pac 96 in 1 from him and he was always quick to answer questions. Good guy.

I had a lot of good experiences from them, on the phone and online, They have also helped me change an order when I placed one online I called them a day later to add and remove something and they had no problem with it. I ordered all my hss kits from them and a lot of other parts

What really pisses me off about Arcadeshop's website is that I would sometimes like to make a list of items but they have some extremely gay 1995 javascript preventing copy and paste on their site so I have to view the source to copy the item descriptions. Weaksauce....:(

Use control+c

Wow! This is the first I've heard of this. 1/2" short is VERY unacceptable. We had a problem at one point where we were 1/16" short, and corrected that with the next batch. If you still have that panel. I'll be happy to replace it if you send it back in.

The same order i had the Galaga control panel come in, also poplated. It had a 8 way joystick put in it! I was shocked as there was no mention of this on the website. So the CPO had four holes where the orignial bolts for the joystick would go for the 2way joystick.

The 8 way stick (set to 4 way) is how they ship, however, it should have had an adapter plate to adapt it to the original holes. We also have different blanks, one with slotted holes for 2-way action, and round holes for 4/8-way sticks, extra button holes etc. It sounds like you got a Round Hole + extra button panel. Clearly that is not correct either.

We don't carry any 'used' panels, they are all brand new and made for us to the specs we provide. You should have recieved this base panel, with all the hardware and artwork.

It sounds to me like we really, really messed up on your order. If you still have any of these items. I'll be happy to either trade them out for the correct parts, or refund you if you send them back in. (We always offer a full refund on anything you are not satisfied with within 30-days, it's on the back of the invoice). I'll even pick up your return shipping. Just drop in a copy of the original invoice, or a note with enough information to locate the invoice on file. Again, I regret you had this experience. We strive to get things right the first time and it sounds to me like we failed horribly in your case.

Best,
- Mike -
