I don't remember ever beating it in the arcades BITD and now I know why. Had some downtime on vacation and just played it to beat it. Awesome game, but it is damn near impossible without having to continue 50 times. So many cheap shots and ways to die.

The main intro sequence where the main villian laughs at you was the developers way of saying, "Hahahaha. We're stealing your money, loser. Hahahaha." Thank God they had some mercy where they allowed checkpoints throughout the levels. But man, if you can beat this game on a single credit, you can do just about anything.

I'm guessing the original PCB is so expensive because guys want to recoup all the quarters they lost playing it when they were kids.

its a tough game but one of my favorite side scrollers, I beat it and remember taking like 20 continues lol, I wanna try again now

I've never actually finished it, but managed to get pretty far. It took me multiple continues to ever get that far...

I only played it on the Genesis. I did beat it though. But I don't know how similar the port was. It's a great game.

right click and save on the little download icon. the superplay site has been acting a little sketchy lately, so you might have to trying saving it a few times before it actually works.

I can beat it back in the days with 1 credit, but after a lot of $ spent. The last boss was easy I remember, just go full force and slash at him.

I used to be able to beat in one guy BITD. That of course included countless quarters to get at that part. I remember even *burrowing* some other players moves or routes for certain levels. One comes to mind is the level with the ascending and descending drills....

The 2 complaints I had with this game was how short it really was, and the fact the last boss/magician was a pussy!

Has anybody ever played part 2? Was not sure if it was released here in the states or not.....

That whole era of Capcom boardsets aren't cheap. Ghouls n Ghosts and Willow are fine eaxamples.....

SFII (up to HF) and Final Fight are usually pretty affordable. But yes, some of the "rare" ones are pricey. I'm still looking for Willow, but don't think it will happen. I can't justify buying a board for like $150-180. Luckily, I got my 3 Wonders board for relatively cheap. Supposedly, Strider is like 250-300. Crazy.

I beat strider wihtout getting hit!

i owned one for 3 years - Best Game i never should have sold. I beat the entire game without getting hit once, DIPPS on hard. I know its hard to believe, especially since the game is very difficult, but i did and it was, well, glorious! a crowd of people were watching and when i defeated the final boss without damage, it was truly an exhilirating arcade moment. SOOOOOOO FUN, its funny to cause i rember thinking to myself the first couple game i played, how am i ever going to beat this game. I did the same with WILLOW and also Ghouls and GHosts - i owned all three of these games at the same time, whish i would have never sold them. mastering them took months of playing every day.

You owned Strider, Willow and G&G and sold them all? What's the matter with you? :)

They are three of the all-time best Capcom side scrollers. That's awesome you mastered all three. Hard to believe like you said.
