My boss had an app called Craigspal for doing auto searches similar to what we use to find games on CL. He wanted to show it to me but when going to the site Cl has served them with a cease and dissist order. Has anyone else here had their search applications disabled by CL? I used to use one called Craigsearch or something like that but got tired of receiving bogus hits so I deleted it.

CL is seriously annoying in this regard. They get totally pissy about most uses of their data other than going to their web site.

If I understand correctly, there is a way to get CL data for things like mobile apps, but there's limits to what you can do.

If you try to do something useful like merge CL data with a map on your website, you tend to get a C&D, or just find they've changed things to lock you out. Same with wide area search - lots of people have built search sites on top of CL, only to get locked out when CL notices them.

If he was searching many locations at once, that may be part of it as well.

Yeah, Craigspal had to shut from the cease and desist letter from CL.
My current favorite CL add is on my iPad, called +craiglist+ it has 940 five out of five ratings. I love it and it;s by Escargot Studios, LLC

I don't know which one I use, but it just dinged to tell me about some overpriced game...
