Anyone else suck at playing video games ?

Pac Man

Well if the topic is really what games we suck at, then [of the games I own and would play] Pac Man is it. I have mastered Defender and Stargate, can play Joust to higher waves, and Robotron to the 500K's + , [and do ok at Tempest, Pole position, Kangaroo and a handfull of others] but the simple maze concept of Pac Man eludes me. Once in a while I actully clear a screen of all of the dots. Still, I own an original Pac Man arcade game.

I have given up on worrying about it. My reflexes peaked somewhere in my 20's and it has been downhill ever since. So all the twitch games can kiss my a$$. I still play them. What is the point of owning them if you don't fire them up and kill something?

But I read with envy when people post about their "March to a Million" on Robotron. I am on my personal "March to Mediocrity". Last night I actually broke 200K for the second time. Some day I will 'Kill BIL' and move his initials off the screen...

I do better with strategy and thinking games, so I will probably install Magical Tetris in the JAMMA box when it shows up later this week and give Karnov a rest. Can't get past the second level anyway...

I suck at pretty much all of the top classics, such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Defender, Missile Command, Asteroids, etc. Those games don't really interest me either in terms of gameplay; I just don't find them fun. I would like to own the machines (especially Missile Command and Defender), but I'd probably never play them much.

What games do you enjoy the gameplay in?

Anyway, as for me, Gravitar is definitely a game I suck at.. Also, Liberator, Battlezone, Tempest to an extent; I wish the monitor was bigger or that everything was more zoomed in, I just have a hard time seeing stuff sometimes.

I would consider myself better than the average person at most classic games, but I am definitely no arcade god, either. I am best at Frogger (58,000), and Gravitar (80,000). But I pretty much suck at any Williams game.
