I love finding, repairing and restoring games, but the truth is, really suck at playing them. there are only a couple games i am decent at. I still love playing them but i wont be setting any records.

I'm great at some games like Millipede and Stargate but I really suck at Donkey Kong and Ms. Pacman.

How can ya be great at Millipede and Stargate but suck at those other 2 games? heheh, It sounds like it would be the other way around. Stargate is brutally hard. Love millipede. The millipede I got from Ben Gold should finally be up and running in a few weeks.

Generally speaking, I suck at arcades. Comes from being poor as a kid. I did roll Galaga once, before any of the older kids told me to stop, but then they took the machine out and I didn't see another one for 20+ years. Now I'm lucky to get 200k. :( And modern consoles are....let's be honest. The controls overwhelm me a bit. But I just posted 394,470 on Satan's Hollow a couple of days ago. So I'm slowly crawling out of the Total Suck Hole. Very slowly.

Yup! I am the exact same way.

Yup... pretty much the same here... there's a few games I really get into and do okay at, but the rest I pretty much suck at. More than likely if I didn't suck at them, I'd get bored though ;) . I'd go crazy trying to play a game of Asteroids for 17 hours straight like I've heard others do. Once the game is no longer a challenge, it's not really fun anymore.

I have a lot more console games than Arcades. Truth be told I'm not very good as classic high score driven gameplay or fighting games. I'm a lot better at modern first person shooters, than button mashing. Of course, lately I've been playing classic games (pre-1990) exclusively. I'm getting better at high score games, and lately I have a renewed interest in them, since scoring my first cab. I'm finding that fixing them is sort of fun.

I suck at playing ONE game: Sinistar

I think Everyone sucks at playing Sinistar. I get far angrier playing Robotron, though, because that insidious game makes you believe you are in control before it mops the floor with you. With Sinistar, I know I'm on borrowed time from the start...

I don't suck at video games in general but I am rubbish at quite a few of the classics;

sinistar (of course)
donkey kong (58K best ever, and that was years ago)
stargate - just can't get the hang of this, although wierdly, I was good at Defender (could clock it). Nowadays stuch at under 400k on Defender.
Millipede or centipede - I'm was just not good at these - when I get my AS board and cab set up for a vert screen I'll retry.
Gorf
phoenix (just not enough practice I think)
Suck at Asteroids deluxe (but was good at asteroids!)
Any beat em ups coz they bore me
paperboy - my arcade didn't have it for long enough
probably a few others I can't think of right now....

Err...that's about it. Come to think of it I was good at pacman (2.8 million!), Tron (only died because I hadn't memorised which pattern was next, but knew them all - not now though!) , Mr Do, Dig Dug, Robotron and quite a few others...I miss arcades :(

I am actually decent at Sinistar, Great at Mad Planets, and pretty good at Star Wars.
Other than those three, I totally suck.

I think I've gotten pretty good at DK. Still haven't broke 200,000 yet though. So maybe that means I still suck. But I do like looking at the cabinet and not playing it sometimes. It's just so pretty. Is it bad that I wipe the CPO clean after every game? :)

The beauty of this point-of-view is that we can now improve our scores... Without spending quarters. ;)

I am not very good at all....but like DogP said if you were really good at a game you might get bored..... Where is the fun in that? I collect and improve(not good enough to consider them restored), everything else is gravy.

EXACTLY. BUY the game and you never have to put quarters in it again. Of course, don't start calculating how many game plays you could get for the $300-$700 that you spent on the game....

ROFLMAO.

Yeah, well... Where could you spend the quarters, now? :D

I'm not that great of a retro game player but I think I can play all of the modern FPS console games well.
