I placed an order last Sunday with Bob Roberts and still have yet to see it.Comfirmation said delivery was supposed to be on the 7th and guess what, nothing. The package didn't get delivered until Saturday but n one was around to accept it. Fast forward to today and the carrier is over 2hrs late delivering to us. I should never have to wait a week for priority mail and even though it is the holiday and post runs slower this time of year it has never been this bad. This 5 billion dollar loss equals fail.

I mailed a PS3 priority on Nov 18th and it finally arrived on Nov 29th.
Not a guaranteed service so no type of reimbursement.
WTF
That's what I get for trying to use the postal service. Never again, UPS only.

They usually hire seasonal people to help do some of the work, but the post office is bankrupt and congress isn't going to give them anymore money, so they're not hiring temps this year... plus next year they're firing a bunch of people. The days of fast shipping through the post office are gone.

I had a package shipped to me from NC, it was supposed to be here on aWednesday got here on a Friday.

We have been having a ton of problems at work as well.

I don't think they are discontinuing priority service, but they are closing first class sort facilities.

If they do, we'll take 5 figures of business elsewhere. I'm afraid they are panicing and their flailing will only guarantee that they drown.

You might want to ask your carrier if they are your assigned carrier. My nighborhood was placed on an auxillary route status and assigned to a different post office. Once that happened my service went to hell. Tracking would say that the package was delivered when it wasn't and would sometimes magically appear a day or two later if at all. I have all packages delivered to my office now.

My postman says "BIG CHANGES" are coming to the USPS ... he says the expected delivery times will be increased by 2-3 days on average... across the board.

I ordered a new DJ setup via USPS
Week Overdue it arrived at CUSTOMS to Canada....
Thats pretty annoying to me, but as long as it arrives to my house before the 18th I am alright.

I have been waiting for a package that left last Tuesday from 90 minutes away. Not sure if it's USPS or if the seller didn't ship when he said he did.

Check the news, that's not rumor. 50% cut in distribution centers, one day delivery of first class letters is no longer a target objective.

One of the distribution centers closed up about 25 minutes from here so I found out my mail is being processed over 1hr away from now on.

Problem started when they were required to pre-fund retirement benefits. Then the washington crooks take that fund ans spend it elsewhere. The government in there "wisdom" has virtually guaranteed the failure of the postal system. And yes, it is possible that the USPS will close. Ask any of their current employees. UPS may be delivering mail within the decade.

I'm all for retirement benefits and such but I'm also a proponent of personal financial independence. USPS has been a good paying job for awhile (especially urban carriers). I wish more people would save a portion of their earnings. In my eyes paying people who no longer work for you seems just silly. How do you expect a company to remain solvent. Failure is inevitable in time. Just ask the automakers. Don't even get me started on unions...

Now I'm having issues with Fed-Ex.

Got home and waited all day today for a package to arrive, kept updating the tracker every 30 mins. The package was put on the delivery truck this morning at approx 6:30am. I got home from school, and tracked the package, still shown to be on delivery truck. That's fine, I always get a late route it seems. (used fed-ex 3 times before / UPS 2 times)

Around 4pm I update it, still on truck. At around 4:22PM it shows (delivery exception) in red. and in the footnote it says customer was not available. So right away I got on the horn to Fed-Ex to see if they could flag down the driver. (had to use online chat since office was closed) It was a mis-deliver since they did not ring the door, knock on the door, or leave their "We missed you" card wrong area blazzy blazzy.

Long story short..... She had no way of tracking them or the office down (closed at 11pm)
So I have to wait tomorrow. So I asked if I could ask for a time slot or give the driver my number so I don't get 3 strikes or waste another day. All she could do was leave a message with the main office to have them call me tomorrow. (prolly while i'm in class)

1. I'm mad because the Fed-ex guys are around here all the time. Make sure you have the right address. I double checked it myself to make sure I wasn't the one in error.

2. Was told these guys don't carry cell or any tracking devices. Really? Why?

3. Have to wast another day since they can never give you an estimated time frame. Almost 12 hours the package sat on truck. From 8am - 6pm they make you sit and wait. Then shit like this happens.

4. I gotta run out of class tomorrow to answer a call from them otherwise I will get a strike

5. I even made sure about the 3 strike out policy and she confirmed it. I then said I didn't want that to happen. Instead of saying. "Well you will not have any strikes against you since it was the fault of the driver." She said... "Well the main office should call you and you can tell them not to deliver before 1pm.

Well, they don't want them talking on cells while driving (for obvious reasons). And while they probably don't have any way to send commands to the driver, because they want to keep him on route with no back tracking.

I'm doubtful that the trucks don't have tracking built in (they've got those computers that they use to record deliveries - you gonna tell me there isn't a GPS in there or in the truck?), but I'm not surprised they don't give that info to the guys answering the phones. Again, they don't want to interrupt the operations of the driver.

Now the fact is that the driver f'd up and you should definitely complain further up the chain. Who is the package from? Because if it's from a big user of Fed-Ex, and if you can get them to complain, that will have more weight than you will.

I have been lucky so far. USPS have always been good on delivering my Bob Roberts orders. Actually USPS, UPS and Fedex have been good about getting me all my packages.(knock on wood.):D Now that I post this, I will probably start getting screwed.

I bought some side art from a guy on here but it got shipped to my old address but i intercepted it. I was watching the website as it said it left dallas but didnt arrive here,It went straight from left dallas facility to delivered i guess a couple of scan points were missed. It usually will say scanned at down town facilty then local PO then delivered.

I ordered a 24" monitor from Walmart online since you can't find them that size in any of the stores here. I will complain to them if shit goes wiry tomorrow.

I understand about the cell phone driving thing or back tracking. But they have my cell phone now and could call when he arrives or if he runs into a mistake again. This could alleviate a lot of problems such as this one before he decides jump into the truck and X off the delivery. I almost asked the Agent. If they don't have com devices other than to track packages. What are they to do if they ran off the road from a heart attack or some kind of emergency? Plus the Main office here closes way before the last delivery? I don't get that as well.

When I was in Japan you would order something and get hour brackets of when your package would be delivered. Not 10-12 Hr brackets. Then sometimes they would call you before or while at door if there were any confusions. Once my wife was in the back yard and didn't hear the door bell. So he called her she was able to run and get the package. Just the service could be better here in the states. Japan has outstanding conveniences and services, and more importantly they don't keep you waiting all day like a bump on a log for nothing like they did me today. Also shipping prices are about the same. Oh well, lets see what tomorrow brings.
