Last year, I picked up this monstrosity:

(Photo was originally taken by the seller, but the condition remains unchanged right down to the Naughty Boy PCB.)

This year, I'm finally getting around to doing some of the work that it's needed since I got it. Made by OmniGames Manufacturing of Orange, California, it's an ugly generic cabinet but I'm rather fond of it.

The main things I'm looking for are photos of the control panel, preferably without fading or a ton of wear (I know; good luck) as well as detail of the marquee with plexi (which is right above the control panel).

For now, figuring out exactly how the OmniGame logo down in the bottom left looked (have a pretty good idea but could use confirmation), whether or not there was anything in addition to the border stripe down in the lower right-hand corner of the CP (where all the paint is worn off), and what the marquee plastic looked like (mine is broken) are the cosmetic priorities.

On the off-chance that you happen to have one of these sitting around that I could use for reference, photos would absolutely be appreciated. I can't imagine that there are too many left so I know my chances are slim on that request, but I'd like to do what I can to preserve this oddball.

I like it's modular, minimalist design. I want one!

How is the monitor & control panel height are they awkward?

Weird. Never seen one in all my years.

What's strange is that I saw these all over the San Fernando Valley in L.A. when I was a kid... And also to a lesser extent in Germany and Belgium (or Holland; it was one of the two). They pretty much always contained either bootlegs or B-string games that likely weren't worth the manufacturer investing in a full run of cabinets for so were typically put on the market as conversions.

It's actually a pretty nifty design internally as well. The top is dedicated to the monitor, the midsection houses the control panel and marquee (which swing forward as a unit), and the bottom cube is largely empty space except for the bottom 20% or so, which is used for a coin tray which is covered and locked separately from the empty space.

There's a fan between the bottom and middle cubes drawing air in upward, with a filter in the lower cube to help keep dust out. It seems to have worked :)

The woodgrain material they used for the outside walls of the cubes reminds me of the laminate that fast-food restaurants used to use in the early- to mid-'80s for their smaller (usually two-seat) tables. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same stuff; it's held up remarkably well.

They're actually not too bad. From the floor to middle-ish on the protruding edge of the CP is 32", and to the bottom of the plexi on the monitor cube is 50". Overall height is 71". It's easier for me to play now than when I was seven or eight years old, but overall it's pretty comfortable and I don't recall ever really having any issues with playing them when I was a kid.

I believe Pac-Man and Space Invaders ones have shown up on Klov before.

If you happen to remember any of the details on these that might lead to links, I'd appreciate if you could share them. If not, understood.

Believe me, I've spent the past year searching for more info on these cabinets and have turned up literally zilch except for the following Hellcade entry:

Kinda liking the lurid green, but would've appreciated a control panel photo ;)

Hey thats my garage! damn just now getting to this!

Yep :) Haven't had much time to get around to it until now - had a lot going on since I picked it up from you. Still works fine, just need to fix the cabinet leaning to the left. Think I've got that figured out; will hopefully be able to do it this weekend.

I bet you would think it was the coolest game in the world if you found it at the laundry mat between a washer and a dryer while you were doing your laundry at 2 in the morning. :D

That cabinet looks like David Copperfield got a hold of it for one of his "slice the girl up" tricks...

And you're welcome!

I added that pic to the Hellcade long ago, and have no other info on it...sorry. Good luck in your search though, I'm impressed that you found that pic.

There is another thread on these in the KLOV somewhere. I remember reading it about a year ago. It was identified and other pictures surfaced in addition to the one above. I want to say it was European or Canadian. Not much help, but the info is there in the vastness of the KLOV.

That thing is super cool. Would look neat if you painted it like stacked question mark boxes and put an SMB in it.

Yes. I remember that thread too. I remember something about these being produced for a movie theater chain.

I remember that thread as well - I started it when I initially needed help with remembering the cabinet ;) It's definitely not a United Artists cabinet, though; those had a completely different design to them.

The types of places that I can remember typically seeing these in (in the US, at least) were liquor and convenience stores or mom-and-pop fast-food joints. Can't recall ever seeing them in arcades, cinemas, bowling alleys, etc.

It does kind of look like the prototype for a three-level stacked washer/dryer combo :D

Spoiler alert: they totally reveal how to saw someone into three pieces ;)

Now that's funny!

I remember searching for something arcade related on Google and got excited when I found a link for exactly what I was looking for in a KLOV forum thread.

After I clicked the link it opened to a thread I started looking for the same info!

I had to laugh at that.
