Does anyone else hate this as much as me, it makes me not even want to deal with the person. Im working on a deal for a cruisin usa and a cali speed and the guy told me a price for both then I told him im very interested and in couple emails later he raises his price by 200$. What the hell, does this world have no ethics anymore?

not that its right, but while you're "working on a deal" others are probably offering to come pick it up. If its a good deal, go get it immediately, if you have to "work a deal" expect that you might miss out. You also mention "a couple emails later" ... again, if you really wanted it, no need for more than 1 or 2 emails at most.

Yep, tells me the dude sucks! I had a local guy do/try this with me. He had a bunch (8-10 games) of games listed on CraigsList with prices. Two of the games I wanted and liked the price. We talked, and I met him at his place after work. The games were upstairs, and not easy to get down. When I was checking the games out and getting the two ready to lug down his stairs, his Joust started acting up (it was for sale also). I knew what the problem was, opened it up, and had it working in 15 or so minutes. He thanked me....saying he wouldn't have to discount it's price....and said to show his appreciation, he'd give me $50 off my purchase.....he then throws out this figure that is $150 MORE than what we talked about on the phone/his Craigslist prices. I thought, WTF....he bumped each game up $100, and is now giving me $50 off this inflated price because I fixed his Joust.....so I'm now at $150 more than his Craigslisting's prices. I thought real quick....didn't say a word. We lugged the two games I wanted downstairs, dragged them through his backyard, loaded them into my truck.....I strapped them down, and handed him a wad of cash......for HIS ORIGINAL PRICE. He counted the cash, gave me an odd look.......and I returned an eat shit and die look, and said "that's cool, right?" He stumbled and studdered with a "yeah, yeah....we're fine". I went on my merry way:D.

yeah, i had this happen on ioffer on me once. i collect vintage video game magazines, and there was a dude that had a ton of electronic games issues. well, all except for e were priced at $30 each, and the three i wanted were priced at like $30 total. well, i made an offer instead of buying them outright as i should've, and the guy raised the price of each one to $30 and counteroffered me.

Love this story... heh heh. best to get the games onto your truck and down those stairs. I'm sure the seller didn't want to lug them off the truck, back in the house, and up those stairs. classic.

Yeah, it pissed me off. It's not like I haggled with him or lowballed him. He posted the prices on Craigslist. A mutual friend gave me the sellers contact info (I didn't know the seller personally). I contacted him within an hour of his for sale post. I told him the two I wanted, when can we hook up. He told me he'd be home from work in two hours.....I said, I'll meet you then......In that time frame the price went up $200.

Also, when I got home I pulled up his Craiglist add.....I wanted to double check....make sure I wasn't the one being an asshole. Sure enough, the price was $200 less than what he tried to milk me.
