CL Posters that use Keyworks at the bottom of their post??? I mean, come on. Post your shit minus the bull. I'd really love to flag them, but don't wanna be "That Guy"

If the terms are helpful to find relative listings, that is one thing. If they are using words that are not related, I don't mind being that guy... Besides, it takes more than one flag to bring down the ad.

The worst day was when XBox Arcade and ArcadeVGA came into being....

I think keywords are important and useful. I've sold arcade games because of using keywords.
KEYWORDS: ATARI VECTOR NINTENDO TAITIO KONAMI NEO BALLY MIDWAY coinop

I've sold machines simply because someone saw the ad and even though they weren't specifically looking for this game, they bought it because they'd completely forgotten about it and suddenly remembering how much they liked it.

My keywords are always arcade related - if this offends people then I'm guilty of it.

However looking for the word ARCADE and having some ad for a car that someone has white texted a shitload of nonsense into - then yes that also irritates me.

And about the xbox shit here's what I use for CL lol
arcade -xbox -xbox360 -snes -nes -ps1 -ps2 -playstation

Well, get this: on the MPLs CL when searching for 'arcade', not only do we get the Xbox, NES, etc ads, we get garage sales, car ads, estate sales, personals, etc, because a major street in the St. Paul area is named, you guessed it, Arcade Street. So any ad that originates on that street or near one of it's intersections comes up.

I actually like the keywords, WHEN they're related to the sale somehow... I use them because when I ask people what they search for it isn't always arcade.

For instance, if I'm selling a cabinet, I'll put words like this at the bottom.

Arcade coin-op coin op operated video machine game vintage full size upright fullsize quarter

And then I throw a few others in there but you can get the idea... Why lose prospective buyers because one guy searches coin-op and one searches coin op, one guy searches fullsize while one is looking for full size.

As long as the keywords related to the item being sold I seriously don't see the point getting upset about it.

I hate it when people post only side way shots of the game. It takes two seconds to rotate them. One guy posted three shots of the game all side ways. That's my pet peave.

Deadly, Yours are not that bad and would agree they are related. This is what I am talking about... Some guy is buying cell phones on CL and uses this as his keywords.

Awesome... :)

This is certainly a start.

arcade -xbox -sony -PSP -fisher-price -genesis -PS3

Edit: Some of you might want to use -"arcade street"...

Problem is, it's always "located at Fuckstick and Arcade" Or "on the corner of Analbait and Arcade." Next you'll tell me to

search: arcade -arcade -and arcade

I use this in my RSS feed search:

-xbox -360 -ps2 -ps3 -playstation

I pretty much just get arcade only stuff in my search

** Edit **

NOTE - this only works for people OUTSIDE of my immediate area. For those people, use the following search:

-arcade

Thank you in advance.

Try to get the street renamed to Caesar Chavez, Martin Luther King, etc. :D

Yeah - I bet the people searching for Xbox Arcade are really sick of seeing 30 year old video games pop up in their search too.

I'm sure they can handle the 2 or 3 OLD SCHOOL games that popup around their wanted 50+ listings. That's the difference between us and them.

They probably want to snatch them up and mount their N64's and Xbox'es in them.
