Just saying, if you are a bid DK fan you know what I mean!! :)

I was in a DK playing mood tonight, and I swear my game was possessed.. again, if you are a DK fan, you know what I mean. The fireballs were so aggressive with chasing me and camping on both conveyers leading up to the last ladders, as well as camping where you need to go to complete the level, that I was killed more there during my games than I an ever remember in the 29 years I've been playing it. And the fireballs were also very aggressive on the barrel stages, coming up the ladders fast.

I moved on to DK2 after my 4th game :)

How about when you pull a fucking ninja barrel jump move, only to be rewarded with no points at all? That's some bullshit.

boy i hate that when that happens .. Or when you double jump too barrels and it only gives you 100 points. I normaily say come on i'm playing this for a score you know!

You need to train yourself to hold the stick left or right to keep the scoring area wider until the points are scored. I think it is 3 jumpman widths if the stick is held, and only one if it is not held. I am usually just happy to have survived though. :)

How long does it take for the pros to max out or reach a kill screen? Is it a couple hours or a marathon session? Have always wondered that..is the new guy still the current wr holder?

Tom

ah thanks :) I've always wondered about that. Hmm that amount of time doesn't put me off like those games that can marathon for days. Got the pcb but now tempted to track down a nice dedicated, after I ship of course, ;)

I believe it's only about 2 or 2.5 hours or so to hit the screen.

You could probably do a kill screen in as little as 2 hours if you weren't point pressing. I think it's about 2h45min to 3 hours if you do press. The guys with the top scores press the heck out of the barrel board, and since there's 3 per level (starting at level 5), that's where all extra time goes.

Yeah, I always hold the joystick either left or right when jumping stuff. It definitely increases your chance of getting the full amount of points. One thing you have to keep in mind is that you will be pushing barrels down ladders while you're doing it, so be careful which way you hold it, because it could cause a bad barrel grouping.
