Anyone else feel like they have too many projects???

Just curious if anyone else feels like they have too many projects. Here's a "Project Row" of mine....and the bad thing is, not all are pictured. (The Galaxy Ranger was guilty by association since it was stored next to the Astron Belt, however it is complete and working).

Not pictured:
Crossbow
Cube Quest
Q*bert
Begas Battle
Dedicated Cobra Command
Fast Draw
Satans Hollow

Pictured: (from Left to right)
Astron Belt
Galaxy Ranger
Pole Position 2
Tron
Ded. Space Ace
Baby Pac
Tron cocktail
Ghosts n Goblins (in Green Taito cab)
Qix
Gorf mini
Ms Pac Mini

I really need to get rid of some projects... :)

Some projects have been lingering for going on 13-ish years. :p Most of the pictured ones are recent acquisitions (within the last 8 months), except for the Ded. Space Ace, Astron Belt, Galaxy Ranger and Ms Pac mini.

Personally, I'm glad to hear it's not just me. I drug them all out yesterday to see which projects I was ready to get rid of. Ideally, I think I would be good with just keeping the ded. Space Ace, Baby Pac and maybe the Tron UR.

I've finally convinced the wife into making a dedicated game room. She would only agree to it if I swore that once the room is up, there would be no other games that couldn't fit into the game room. So I guess once I fill it up, it will be a 1-in / 1-out rule, which I've never had to do before. However, I am a firm believer in the forgiveness over permission principle.

The space that I was given to me in our basement is 28'x14', which I think is pretty decent. I'm starting the thinning out process, so you my see some projects for sale very soon.

Jon: Nice Pin haul! Let me know if the TAF ever comes available! :p

Yes. Way more projects right now than working games.

Then again it depends on your definition of project I guess. Lots of shit works, but I still consider it a project if cosmetic work and minor shit still needs to be done eventually.

I don't know how you guys do it. If I have more than one project on the go, I get flustered and anxious to finish them. So I now only bring one at a time and work on it at my leisure until completed.

I try to finish projects before I get more. But we know how that works!!! Space ace of of my all time favorites!

I got rid of all of the projects last year. It was just more work than I wanted to do. Now I just have to fix what breaks down, and that is still more than I really want to do. I think I am going to start paying for monitor work. I just don't enjoy it at all anymore.

some take me years to get to

+1

off to another estate sale
went there yesterday, hardly anyone there...
today, they go to half price
they close at 5. will be there with my truck at 4:30
will emphasize how big and heavy they are

what will i get and how cheap
gotta love it

I probably have a dozen including pins.

The problem I'm having (I like the unique and rare stuff), is it can take year(s) for an item you finally need to materialize!:(

Damn nice house in the background. Oh yeah, same boat the garage is full of projects some a few years old. I can buy them faster than I can fix them unfortunately. I am at the one in one out point though. :(

I was feeling overwhelmed with projects until I finally got rid of some in the last several months. When I have that many I feel like I can't focus on just one when I see all the stuff the other games need. Too many times that means I don't get anything done, which is no good. I've also never been big on cosmetic work so a total restoration is a rare thing for me.

Well I stalled out on projects. CL sellers haven't been kind to me. Only have Mame cabinet project and that's no fun.

You just pick them up?

i always have around 20 projects, some take me years to get to.

jon

I have more projects than you, but I'm in the same boat of many years to get to some.

Heh, it really isn't just you, don't you worry about that....

Hehe, I'm at a similar point of more projects than working.

I'm not quite as extreme as you are on projects though. I will clean a game up before it comes off the project list, but I mean, my Tron needs a full art-kit for it, but I don't consider it a project. If it was missing a chunk of wood then yeah it would be project status.

I know what you mean...

Yes, my project list is big, too. I'll see an incredible find, pick it up and put it iin the project area and gradually (very gradually) pick up the repair parts. Then it's a matter of finding time to actually finish it off. Between my "honey-do' list and my project list, I've got enough work to keep me busy til I retire....Maybe that's when I'll have enough time.

Having projects and games that arent 100% is par for the course. When you start to question the amount of unplayable wood in your collection, it's a positive sign that you know you need to pass some of those projects on to someone else that will get to it sooner than you. Outside of the super rare stuff, almost all of this stuff can be found again if you're willing to do the networking and footwork.

Oh I understand

Jungle King
Jungle Hunt

I would be happy to take some of those projects and a few others off your hands. ;)

Let me know....

Let's see....

Nintendo Red cab needs to be restored outside & converted to DK
Ms.Pac is fully dissassembled and waiting for side-art to be installed
Video Pinball. Bought it, put it in game room, never touched it. CP is off completely. Needs a lot of work
Asteroids needs to be restored and assembled
Lunar Lander almost ready !
Joust needs to be restored but works
Mame cab, my wife wants it to run again because of Puzzle Bobble....I lost motivation for non-dedicated cabs :)

Even my fully working and 98% restored cabs usually still need this or that....small things....

A true work of art is never finished ;)
