Every now and again, I play alot of the B sides in the juke that I'd never heard from the artists we have the 45s from. Some are simply awesome, others you end up saying to yourself "man if it's this bad LISTENING to it, I wonder how the recording engineer felt!!"

Anyone else hit the B's now and again?

There are tons of B sides that are better than the hit side of 45`s.
Hey Hey from Led Zep is a great B side but I don`t think it`s on any LP...

We have a lot of 'back to back' or 'double shot' records, the ones with hit songs on each side.
So working the other side of the mechanism isn't really a problem.

But yes, sometimes I'll hit the 'unknown' songs just to give them a spin.
My kids will hit totally random numbers sometimes just to see what comes up.

I know what you mean though, there are some records with b-sides that venture from the style of the A side that it was an amazing thing they ever got a recording contract.

Maybe this would be a good thread topic...

What's the weirdest B side you've heard recently?

Here's one to start things off:
John Lennon / Yoko Ono
A: Just like Starting Over
B: Kiss Kiss Kiss
Geffen 49604

I know, anything Yoko related is weird, but the end of this one, well, you'll just have to hear it for yourself.

Sounds like someone torturing a cat.

There is a Christmas song that she sings with John Lennon, "And So This Is Christmas" I think is the name? When her part comes up, you can hear her sing:

"HAHVA VAHHY MAHHHY KRISSMASSSS AHNDA HAH PEE NOO YEEEEEE", all off-key and horrible. You can almost see the sound engineer getting slapped for trying to shut off her mic during the recording.

Yeah, good one, The Who is always great!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Elvis' 'Don't Be Cruel'/'Hound Dog' or Richie Valens' 'Donna'/'La Bamba' ...
Guess I'm just too old for the crowd here.

What bout Queen's 'We Will Rock You'/'We Are The Champions'?

Vanilla Ice's 'Play That Funky Music'/'Ice Ice Baby'
