I have a decent 13" TV I pulled out of the dumpster. It is an RCA, looks to be late 80's-mid 90's vintage. I'd like to make an arcade monitor out of it. Are there any good chassis candidates for random 13 inch tubes?

Sure. There is a 13" G07, a 13" K7000, and quite a few others. I would personally advise you against any chassis labeled as Ducksan.

What tube is in the TV? What does the yoke measure?

Easy now, let's not get technical just yet. I have it in my truck, will decase it Friday. I will post the info up then. I really don't want to swap the tube in my 4800, as it is in pretty decent shape. I do have a ducksand here, but it is a 13 inch VGA monitor with a pretty decent tube.

Yeah, that is the problem I have found with most 13" tubes. The originals never seem to have much, if any, burn. I have three or four spare 13" tubes sitting on a shelf that I will most likely never use because I have no need to swap them out with anything.

Well I did have a 4800 from a poker or trivia machine that was burnt to the max. I sold that one before I knew about tube swaps.

That, and there seem to be a lot more 13" monitors sitting around than there are games that take them. I've seen lots and lots of poker machines with 13" monitors in them.

Probably true. I'll just chuck the bitch back where I found it and have a good cry about the time I wasted and the slime that I got on my left hand whilst diving for it.

Hehe. I don't know, might as well keep it around in the corner somewhere. Because you know that tomorrow you'll find a Robotron mini on Craigslist for $50 with a busted picture tube.

At least pop the back off and identify the tube, then decide.
I've needed a 13" tube before due to haphazardly breaking the neck off the one for my test bench.
Stuff happens, never know when or who might need one.

I'm still looking for a tube for a 13" G07 with horrible Pac burn.
I've picked up a couple 13" TVs, and they didn't have the correct number of pins. If you find one with the correct pinout I'd think it would be wise to keep it around for a while.

I did a tube swap for a 13" G07. The TV I found had the exact same tube #. Just needed to swap the yoke and it looked new again...

I passed on 20 some touchmaster machines for $10 each. All of them had monitors and alot of them had boards. I really wish I had picked them up but didnt have the room since I didnt bring the trailer that day. There seems to be alot of the touchmaster and megatouch machines available for cheap these days.
