Anyone curious what the worst earning games at Game Galaxy are?

I'm gonna get a little RACIST here: Why the HELL did you move???

Sounds to me like the "white" Mall was delivering MUCH better earnings. If the earnings of the games were even ONE THIRD of your income, then you need to move those games to another Mall loaded with Crackas and "git some white folk up in here" to get PAID...

It wasnt by choice, I believe they got forced out cause a restaurant(correct me if I'm wrong) that does minimal gaming mostly redemption didnt want any "competition" in the same mall.....

i really need to get some quarters and go for a visit, maybe i will try on my birthday in another month

It makes perfect sense. Your staff does not have to go around giving credits. You set the games to two plays for one quarter and put a little sign on the ones you are doing this on so folks know. That would be a nice way to get people to try out the under-performers. If it cut your $1 take in half on a game would it really matter if the idea failed? You can just put them back to 1 quarter 1 play anytime. If you rotated games that you do this on, it would add a little bit more excitement to see what games you get the Daily Double on. ;)

Edit: All you need is some signs and to flip some dip switches.

VectorJunkie, we already do that, though. Goonies is 2 credits for one quarter and NO ONE PLAYS IT. Heck, Asteroids gives you 5 credits for one quarter, ROFL....so let me rephrase, it makes absolutely no sense because it doesn't work in our area because of demographics and history of the mall/area. Believe me, what works here are Neo Geo games and Japanese cabinets and drivers and shooters. It's my own craziness to leave classics in there knowing full well people won't play them there. You can have all the idea in the world to tell me, but they won't work..Tennessee is a different beast, LOL

Yes, that is right...

LeeB99: We were booted from our second location (this location is our original location we opened 2 years ago) because Incredible Dave's (www.incredibledaves.com) came into our location on a Saturday and complained to the mall that people are going to confuse us for them and basically did not want competition in the mall. They were not and STILL ARE NOT even open yet in Rivergate Mall in Goodlettsville, TN, so it was just ridiculous for us to be removed from our lease, but when you have a 55,000 square foot "adult" Chuck E Cheese type place with redemption and only 8 machines (drivers/shooters) you can't really say anything....

But yeah, I would have loved to have kept that location...it was packed quite a bit and the classics were played a lot. Collections on 70 games were DOUBLE what we get on 125 games at this current location....so here I sit with 100+ arcades and pins still in storage waiting to find a high traffic location still.

On another note, our "top" performing classics are actually Vs Super Mario Bros (red tent and regular) and Mr. Do!, but the only reason Do did well or does well at times is because we had a group of 3 guys (and Scucci put a HS kit in there) playing constantly. For 3-4 months Mr. Do was making $20-25 a week, LOL

Caldbert: Compared to the closed location, not as much...

Closed Location
Guns N Roses-$75 a week
Black KNight 2000-$40-45 a week
Time Machine-$25-30 a week
X-Files-$30-35 a week

Only location left-
Guns N Roses-$20-25 a week
Theatre of Magic-$10 a week
Simpsons-$15 a week
Sopranos (used to make $40 a week, now only about $10-15)
Terminator 2-$15 a week
Elvira-$8-10 a week
Bad Cats-$1-2 a week, LOL
Rollergames-$6-8 a week...
Fun House-$12-14 a week
etc...we have more pins, but those are off the top of my head

If this was an actual investment, we'd be long out of business, but since it's really my collection being played, I don't really consider it a loss....the place still does ok by paying for itself and gives me some money, lol

did you ever look at opry mills before the flood as a 2nd place?

You mean the one with the Dave and Buster's already in there and $5000 a month rent? LOL

Stealthie: Super Punch Out makes $5-6 a week, we do have a Donkey Kong, but that is Jay Gallagher's, so I do not know what his game makes a month and he has his own set of classics in there...

i thought that place went away shows how much i go to the mall lol did jay ever sell the SD i sold him?

I think one of the few games that would do ok today is the TMNT series The regular TMNT and Turtles In Time. Just because the cartoon is still on Saturday mornings as far as I know and most people are still fairly familiar with the characters.

Sucks to see that a lot of the classics get very little play. Thanks for posting the information helps to have real world statistics of these games earnings these days.

Opry Mills is shutdown for now, but they already had Dave and Busters in there.

Jay doesn't sell anything. I am sure he already had a Space Duel. The man has 400+ machines, and 6 storage units of 1,000-4,000 sq feet each with more parts and things than anyone in the state for just one guy...

We have TMNT, that is Jay's...I know it does "ok" but not stellar. When we had Turtles in TIme that made $12 a week...

lol storage raid? :p

lol storage raid? :p

ROFL, if only...that storage raid in Clarksville was laughable compared to the FIRST storage unit of his...first thing I saw was ROWS like an assembly line of laser disc games all wrapped up..He had 20-30 of them, all kinds, multiples of each, Dragon's Lair, Thayer's Quest, it was ridiculous.

Now, people DO play games if no one has them.

BINGO! If you can play a perfect/near perfect port of your favorite game on a console in the comfort of your own home at any time of the day or night, then why in the world would you travel out to a place and spend money playing the same game which you can only play during store hours.

I know reading that sentence is like nails on a chalkboard for lots of us on here, but it's true unfortunately.

Not sure when I'll be in that area next, but when I do I'll be sure to visit one of your loacations.(And bring lots of quarters.) :D

Atmosphere. That and playing on the actual cabinet. Game play on MAME can't replicate it. Means a lot to me, not much to many. If I was anywhere near TN I would go there.

I vote for a knoxville branch of Game Galaxy. I actually have a few locations in mind and could help out with operations and maybe even throw some games in as well....

I'd get rid of some of the non performing games, and replace them with different cool stuff, even standups or artwork or something. No reason having stuff there nobody plays. Get leaner and meaner.

Lyons, then we won't be a classic arcade and we'll be like everyone else. And my storage will just have tons of games, LOL
