Anyone curious what the worst earning games at Game Galaxy are?

You need to include more modern games that people WANT to play. 25+yr old arcade games are only worth anything to collectors. The general public wants what is new. your business model is 30yrs out of date.

HerpDerp?

You didn't read the games we had on the list apparently. Those were just the worst earning games at the time. We have 125 games at the one place and I am sure 85 of them are 1990 or above and do fine (and we have the only arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition in 5 states)

I mean, I don't mind some criticism but at least know what kind of business I have before you make assumptions and chastise me on something you aren't aware of.

and by list I mean Game Galaxy website...

This thread is actually pretty old....none of the classics do poorly anymore because I removed most of the stuff off that list or moved some to Rivergate...

Of this list below we only kept the following in the arcade to go along with the rest of the games that make money...

Defender, Dr. Mario, Elevator Action, VS Excitebike, Vs Tetris, VS Pinball, Pac-Man PLus, Tekken Tag, Tapper, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, and Track and Field

Defender-$1
Tempest-$1.50
Tapper-$1.00
Street Fighter EX 2 Plus-$1.25 (in big blue Q-SOund cabinet)
Violent Storm-$1.75 (this has gone down lately, it was running $5 a week for awhile)
Tekken Tag-$1.75 (also gone down lately)
VS. Tetris-$1 (even original Tetris did not do well for us)
VS Excitebike-$1 (down lately, usually $2 or so)
VS Pinball-$1
Satan's Hollow-$1 (pulled this once already, brought it back for Halloween)
Pac-Man PLus-$1.50 (way down, usually $5 or so)
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs-$1 (another one WAY down, usually $3-4 a week)
TRack and Field-$1.25
Toobin-$.50 (down as of late)
Food Fight-$0.25 (We're pulling this)
Dr. Mario-$1.50
VS Gradius-0 (LOL)
VS Goonies-0 (this one has made a total of $2 in 2 months)
R-Type-$1 (only the second week we have had it too)
Elevator Action-$1 (3rd week since we brought it back in)
Marble MAdness-$1 (probably going to pull this)
Arkanoid-$1.75

Wow DreamTR, I dunno how the hell I missed this awesome thread. Kudos to you for keeping the real arcade dream alive... An amazing story to read. Is there any chance of posting some pix for us to see? I'd love to see it!

Tom

I'm afraid to put money in your Track & Field because the last few times I did, it never credits up.

Been meaning to comment on some of your games. I was there in May. Wonderboy, Elevator Action, Track and Field, and Burger Time all had one of their coin slots not working. For some reason, Track and Field and Burger Time were set to 50 cents instead of a quarter.

Vs Slalum, and the Nintendo light gun games were pretty much inoperable. The skis on slalum wouldn't turn left and the screens on the light gun games were too dark to register the gun.

Otherwise, pretty awesome place.

Someone keeps taking the tape off the other coin slots that are not functional..we have a bunch of kids that apparently like to try and put coins in slots that are visibly taped up....

I know about each one of those games' coin slots issues but Track and Field and Burger Time are definitely not 50 cents...sometimes T & F just eats quarters, and BT is not grounded completely on the coin door, but they are both 25 cent.

I just played Duck Hunt today and it was fine, same with Hogan's Alley though the sensor in that gun is tricky once in awhile....Slalom I will have to check...haven't heard of it not going left...thanks for the info...if no one tells us these things we won't ever know

I just checked your list, and noticed that you have War Gods.

Does War Gods actually make money? All of your fighting games are pretty damn solid, but I don't recall that one getting a whole lot of good press.

I've gotta friend of mine who is actually trying to get rid of a War Gods... if it makes any cash, it might actually be worth it.

THat list is old...I "have" War Gods, but it's in storage right now...Richard really needs to update that list...

TELL ME ABOUT IT... we switched to a card system and silicone'd up the coin slots on most of the games... on a regular basis, people will dig the silicone out, stick a coin in the (disconnected) slot, then come up and bitch that the game "ate their token"... When I tell them the game doesn't take tokens they look at me like I insulted their mother or something.

The only thing that works reliably is driving a screw right through the slot and leaving it there... even then I catch people trying to pry the screw out with their fingernails! But at least they usually eventually get the hint.

Curious as to how the Robotron fairs? If I was in the vicinity, I would make it a priority to set high scores on some of your sweet machines, and play your excellent lineup of pins!

Robotron does "ok" at the Hickory Hollow location and it is turned off at Rivergate because there is no point to keeping it onwith the small traffic we have there...I estimate it to be around $9.00 a month

Dream, I loved visiting your arcade a couple years ago when Paul had the first campout. Super sad Marble Madness is underperforming. Would love to take that off your hands. :)

nitrozoom: Rivergate has Tron Legacy, Guns N Roses, Sopranos, Road Show, Rollergames, Addams Family, and Black Rose

Sosage: AE makes about $40 a week now..I think total LTD the game has pulled in about $5000....

Thanks a lot for all the information. I was thinking of opening an arcade and this answered a lot of my questions. By the way, what are your top earners at the moment?

Cruisn World, Rush The Rock, Tekken 6, Street Fighter Arcade Edition are the top 4...after that it's a toss up with another 6-8 games
