I was thinking that it would be nice to have a place to rest my beer while playing a game, so was thinking of building a couple of the drink counters that you typically see at bars next to the Golden Tees. You know the ones... about 8"-12" wide, nearly as deep as the cab, and a comfortable height for resting a bottle...

Has anyone made these? What did you make it from? Free-standing, or did you attach it to the floor/wall so it wouldn't scuff the side-art?

Seems like a simple enough project, but you never know when someone else has a great idea to share...

Thanks!

A drink counter is a cool idea. When I'm counting I tend to lose track at around 10.

Interesting story... A buddy and I used to always keep track of how many beers we'd drink by stacking up the plastic cups on our table at the bar. In the past year, though, we've been told by several waitresses to get rid of them or they couldn't serve us any more... Don't know if it's become a local ordinance in St. Paul or not, but... They have told us that while they're not responsible for keeping count, if they have knowledge that you've had more than XX (Who knows how many that is) drinks, they are required to refuse service. Could just be a downtown bar owners assoc. thing to avoid lawsuits.

I guess I should've called 'em beer rails or beer rests in the thread title...
