Anyone bought this Mortal Kombat 9 JAMMA system?

yes mk9 is great in a cab. I have a MK cab with a 360 hooked up to it. i don't really see the point of the original post and that is expensive. you can get a 360 for $200. I guess it makes hooking up the monitor easier but for the extra $700 you could buy a nice monitor that has VGA.

Reminds me of my friend BadBoyBills MK cab he built using an Xbox 360. I did the graphics on it, and then Ed Boon signed it.. which was pretty cool!

Damn! That is beautiful and Ed signed it! WOW!

It's crap... Arcade cabinets are designed for arcade games, not consoles.

What a narrow-minded view you have. The difference between a arcade game and console game is so blurred these days. MK9 is a arcade caliber game that was released on consoles because arcades area dead in the USA. If they weren't this would be in the arcades here.

Here is my 360 cabinet:

I always thought putting modern consoles in cabinets was kind of silly just because most of the games had control schemes that didn't translate well to arcade controls. I would think MK9 would be an exception.

Did I miss MK 5-8?

First off the screen shots show credits at the bottom of the screen. Is that an option in the ps3 version or something?

It depends on what you run on it. You have the fighters like this and sf4 that come to mind and maybe soul caliber. For the xbox 360 the gameroom app comes to mind as well as a bunch of ports for live arcade. Marvel vs capcom 2 and 3, Street Fighter 3, and Radiant Silvergun all come to mind as well.

there is a timer based pcb that you can hook up similar to the old ps2/xbox JAMMA pcbs that give time based on credits, I guess this could be something similar, as if you search for similar items on the original site, you get a timer based 360 hookup that is designed for SF IV, MK9 etc

we had a couple of Blast Cities at our local Arcade show last year running 360's with hacked madcatz pads wired to the CP's, there were a hit, I think one was running SF IV, and others were running cave schumps, the original cab based on Aliens style cab is awesome, and Tighe's is nice as simple, clean, looking, I plan on adding PS3 to my Lindbergh cab, so I can play MK, SFIV and VT4 :)
