Anyone bought the 19" CRT monitors @ arcadeshop?

Just curious. They have them but offer ZERO warranty. I asked the lady if they ever have any problems with them. She said she wouldn't say that but that they sell alot of them. I know if I spend $200 for something and then it arrives not working or stops working within days of receipt, I'm going to be pretty upset.

Buying with a credit card? Check with your credit card bank first. They may offer, and likely do offer, warranty coverage of items purchased on your card. It's a form of buyer protection.

If I bought a new monitor from Arcade Shop and it arrived not working, and they wouldn't accept a return/refund, I'd be calling my credit card bank pronto to dispute the charge. I'd also be looking into filing suit in small claim's court and sending written reports to the Better Business Bureau and my state Attorney General's office, along with the state Attorney General's office where the seller is located.

Selling defective merchandise is never okay. There are consumer protection laws specifically because of shit like that. I've ordered stuff from Arcade Shop myself many times, including new monitors, but that policy is just shady bullshit.

I'm not saying this is right.....but I can tell you why I thing they're doing, what they are doing.

Those monitors haven't been made in several years....they are old stock, so to say. When the announcement came down that CRT monitors were being discontinued by all manufacturers.....ArcadeShop stocked up. The manufacturer (not ArcadeShop) gives/gave a 1 year warranty. Since these monitors have been out of production by the manufacturer.....for going on almost three years......the manufacturer will no longer honer their warranty, thus...ArcadeShop is not.

Just to scare you a bit more...I have heard horror stories of STACKS of Kortek/"New19" monitors being DOA in droves. One after another DOA outta the box. Maybe better to rebuild an old WG4900.....

We bought one of these "no warranty" monitors about a month ago. The only real issue was the color bleeding problem that was reported with the Imperials and Korteks a while back when used with a 60-in-1 - which may explain the lack of warranty.

I was able to adjust it enough to make it look good, though, so I wasn't really bothered by it.

The only thing that would bother me about the "no warranty" would be if the neck were to get broken during shipping. A year ago I got one from them (Vision Pro with warranty) that had the neck broken, and they replaced it...

I ordered a 19" from ArcadeShop just a few months ago and it was DOA. After multiple calls they shipped out a new board, that too was DOA. They shipped another monitor, that one lasted 3 minutes. They gave me a full refund in the end, but all in all it was a frustrating 6 week process. I ended up picking up a new 19" from Victor at 8 liners and it works perfectly. I personally would never buy a monitor from ArcadeShop again, but would buy other items from them. In the end they made it right and refunded my money.

CRT monitors

I have a friend who bought like twenty of the last CRT's, I think they were Kortek, and they all died either right away or soon there after. I don't know where they came from but they looked great and performed miserably. The manufacturer had a fix kit that was supposed to repair the problem, I installed many and they all died as well.

What I'm trying to say is that if it is not a Vision Pro, or N.O.S., or even Old Used Stock, we may be out of luck if you want a clean new CRT. I'm trying to avoid LCD at this time and I have a pretty good supply of old CRT tubes....
