Anyone bought from these guys?

I haven't bought any of his paint pens but I've bought other stuff from him over the years and he was always a good person to deal with. He used to sell a ton of Arcade parts and games on the newsgroups.

Does it matter? last time you asked about a printing service, we all told you not to use them, then you got mad at us and defended the company.

+1 and rep for saying it

I won't give advise to those that ignore and defend their bad ideas against those that know better... kids these days...

I ended up deciding to switch manufacturers to either John at Basement Arcade or jeff412 here on the forums. You didn't see the update on the thread.

Cone on, cut me some slack. If I don't get any advice, I won't really now much about these games anyways and might get scammed.

Thanks guys, now I feel safe buying some pens.

Nothing against the seller, but I'd save your money. From the site:

"PLEASE NOTE - these pens are matched to ORIGINAL colors. They will not match faded areas on your game, as the paint pen colors are vivid and fresh. "

I.E. They really won't be useful - I tried the DK one many years back and it wasn't even in the same ballbark as my cabinet.

I know. I plan to touch up a bezel and not the pink, but did the colors just not match the paint on your DK because yours was faded? From what I can tell, the blue and yellow on Ms. Pac cabs do not fade.

all colors on all cabs that have exposure to light will fade over time. Some colors like reds tend to fade a lot more noticeably. Many times the colors on a cab will fade relatively evenly and not be very noticeable until placed next to a completely unfaded example.

A good place to see the difference between original and faded colors on a cab are places that get painted but then covered up like possibly the inside of the control panel area. I know nintendos have the outer color of the cab also in this area. Of course under the cp they never see much light and have little or no fade. Don't recall if pac and ms pacs are the same in this respect but they may be. Possibly inside marquee areas may also have over spray as well. Sometimes the bottom of a cab is also painted and generally has little light exposure.

On top of this I'm not sure if the colors on the cab are an exact match to the bezel colors so that may also be an issue.

Thanks for that explanation, I do know there is some overspray in the marquee area and I'll check once my Ms. Pac gets delivered.

The red in the Jr. Pac marquee and pink all over a Ms. Pac cab are ood examples of colors that fade most easily.

I think they might have even used a cabinet match for my repro bezel, but anyways I don't really care if it's not a perfect exact match, just so long as it's close.

Edit: I ended ordering them anyways.

Best thing to would be get the pens and totally repaint the cab with them, then there is no need to worry about faded colors:D
