I'd have to agree, sometimes a simple no rather than a belittling of an event would suffice. Sometimes a nice cup of stfu can go a long way.

The person(s) behind this "event" have been less than honest about what is going on. I am perfectly within my right to "dump" on it if they are misleading people.
I have many years of personal and professional experience (experience that I am sure you do not have) with the person(s) behind this event. Don't even think of telling me what I do and do not know. Until these people come clean about what they are doing and stop misleading people about what the IVGHOF is, then I will speak out about it.

.....and since the IVGHOF has been less than honest about the fact that the do not have a facility to showcase your donation, where do you think that game is going to go? My money says it will become part of someone's personal collection.
That might be a question worth asking before handing it over to them.

Its not really a secret that the museum idea is in its infancy...I was made fully aware of that and Walter Day is a pretty geniune nice guy from my conversations with him over the phone. He sent me 15 autographed posters from past Twin Galaxies events, hot sauce, and free four day passes for myself, wife, son, and even my parents. I think that shows some pretty sincere apprecation for my donation. I could care less if it ends up in someones house...at least it'll get played. Plus, I figure it as a tax write off
You act like they are planning to hijack everyone's video games to take over the world or something...it ain't that big a deal man. What "experience" do you have cause you are pretty much a noob on this forum

But NOT in this thread. THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT WHO IS GOING. Missed the point yet again. This is not a thread to air your complaints about IVGHOF. If you want to speak out about it, go make a new thread and do so.
I too have many years of personal and professional experience, so touche' on your disparaging comment telling ME that you are sure I do not. You still never said if you even WENT to the IGHOF launch party. Did you? If you have a beef with Walter, IVGHOF or anyone else behind the event, again, do it elsewhere and stop making it personal.
An example that may help you understand why this is wrong. Try to follow:

i am interested in mps comments and would like to hear more. i do find it interesting that they are soliciting tax free donations for a museum that does not exist. i would think step one would be to get a building to house the museum and step two would be getting the stuff to fill it. what will happen to all the donations if they never get a facility up and running, or if it closes after a relatively short period of time? i am curious to know more about this and what is going on behind the scenes that we do not know about. if someone wants to start a new thread about it i think that would be great!

What does that have to do with anything? I wouldn't classify myself a "dreamer" but in my book, dreamers > people who like to crap on their dreams, generally speaking.

The dude IMO (obviously) has a personal issue with one or more people putting this on. I agree he has taken the attack(s) too far. However, I am merely suggesting that there might be some underlying value to his "exercise caution" message and offered another "big dream" arcade museum failure example as proof. I know how upset some of those people were, and all were paid for their games, many top dollar. If this museum is in fact in the early concept phases, people who are being asked to donate games should do so with full knowledge of the status and associated risks, don't you think? In any case, carry on...
My post was a generalization. Your post was very generic as well. So I didn't take your statement as referring specifically to what this guy's complaint is.

Oh sorry bro. I simply though mps's message of "exercise caution, things may not be as they seem" was completely lost in there with his tactless attacks. I just wanted to make sure poeple got that part and looked out for themselves. I should have made that a little clearer in my initial response, sorry about that!
