I'd have to agree, sometimes a simple no rather than a belittling of an event would suffice. Sometimes a nice cup of stfu can go a long way.

Are any of the world record holders or contenders going for a record at the event? I was hoping Steve Wiebe would be taking a crack at it.

But that's no reason to dump on an event that is in its infancy and trying to get started with people that would like to attend.
You didn't need to tell me or anyone else how much enjoyment we will get out of it, especially since you are speaking from no experience.
amen to that. My family and I are going for free since I'm donating a machine and I think it will be a good time.
The person(s) behind this "event" have been less than honest about what is going on. I am perfectly within my right to "dump" on it if they are misleading people.
I have many years of personal and professional experience (experience that I am sure you do not have) with the person(s) behind this event. Don't even think of telling me what I do and do not know. Until these people come clean about what they are doing and stop misleading people about what the IVGHOF is, then I will speak out about it.
Try disagreeing with him sometime and see what happens..I was made fully aware of that and Walter Day is a pretty geniune nice guy from my conversations with him over the phone.

Yeah 'cause every big dream works out exactly as planned, right?Any time someone has a big dream, there will be people to crap all over it.
The dude IMO (obviously) has a personal issue with one or more people putting this on. I agree he has taken the attack(s) too far. However, I am merely suggesting that there might be some underlying value to his "exercise caution" message and offered another "big dream" arcade museum failure example as proof. I know how upset some of those people were, and all were paid for their games, many top dollar. If this museum is in fact in the early concept phases, people who are being asked to donate games should do so with full knowledge of the status and associated risks, don't you think? In any case, carry on...What does that have to do with anything? I wouldn't classify myself a "dreamer" but in my book, dreamers > people who like to crap on their dreams, generally speaking.
Oh sorry bro. I simply though mps's message of "exercise caution, things may not be as they seem" was completely lost in there with his tactless attacks. I just wanted to make sure poeple got that part and looked out for themselves. I should have made that a little clearer in my initial response, sorry about that!My post was a generalization. Your post was very generic as well. So I didn't take your statement as referring specifically to what this guy's complaint is.
