Anyone attending the IVGHOF Big Bang event in Ottumwa Iowa this week?

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Hopefully my Space Invaders Deluxe that I am donating will be there too...(no pick up has happened yet).

Should be a good time!

I'll be there. I'm bringing my Joust just to loan for the event. Can't do a donation at this point because I don't really have any good stuff to donate that I don't want to keep. I'll be there all four days with my son. I'll probably be the only guy there with a Redskins hat on.

People who are attending that fiasco are going to be in for a real shock once they discover that the IVGHOF is nothing more than a fantasy that currently has no building, no exhibits & no games.

Besides, the "cool kids" will all be at Richie's this weekend.

i'd go but i'm gonna be up in wisconsin, and i don't feel the ticket cost for two people is worth it, so i'll be passing.
 
I'll report back. I'm looking forward to the induction ceremony and to meet Walter Day. I have relatives that are about an hour away so the timing just worked out that I'd be able to attend the event as well
 
Damn. And I have an Aunt & Uncle who live in Ottumwa that I could stay with, too....

I am going. Does my ticket entitle me to be involved in the tournies for free... I have never been to one of these events?

If you want to visit a decent arcade hit fun city in Burlington. It is a couple hours away and while it doesn't quite capture the heart of 80's arcades it is a blast for kids and has some fun stuff for adults.

Don't forget to order chicken lips if you go. Wicked good.

I will be staying there and driving back and forth each day.

Wow, pardon the hell out of me from trying to spare my fellow gamers from a complete waste of time and money. That's fine then. Go, see that there is nothing to do, feel ripped off & remember that a fellow KLOV'er tried to stop you.

....and by the way, "No" is a completely valid answer to the question of if anyone is going.

amen to that. My family and I are going for free since I'm donating a machine and I think it will be a good time.

I'm sure Richie's event will be a fun time and I hope a lot of people get plenty of enjoyment out of it. But that's no reason to dump on an event that is in its infancy and trying to get started with people that would like to attend. Especially twice in one thread. That's the definition of trolling. Your "no" was heard loud and clear the first time. You didn't need to tell me or anyone else how much enjoyment we will get out of it, especially since you are speaking from no experience. Did you attend the IVGHOF launch party last year? No? I did. I had fun, and there was plenty to do and see, even though it was still in concept phase at that point.

Thanks again for your 3X opinion on how much enjoyment I will have in a thread about who is attending the event. I guess will just have to suffer with nothing to do.
