So, as per my post here -
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=377853
I'm considering all options. I could do the work myself, but being the first monitor (and ONLY monitor in my 'collection'..) I'm not sure I want to take a full rebuild job on.

From what I'm reading and seeing on the screen, likely it needs everything - flyback, caps, divergence all done up. From the looks of it, the monitor hadn't been touched since it was made in '96.

Thought about sending just the chassis out to get it touched up, and I may go that route, unless there's someone near me that works on these and wants to tackle it. :D

Buffett is near Manassas, I'm sure he could help you out. But, sounds like a flyback issue to me.
I'll drop him a line, thanks.

After reading some more, yeah, I believe the flyback is toast. I'm hesitant to replace it without doing a cap kit as well (feels like a waste getting it all out and such to ONLY do the flyback..)

Yes, I'd recommend a cap kit and a flyback. Also, recommend getting a flyback from Chad at arcadecup. The last flyback I bought from Bob Roberts for my Neotec NT-2701 was bad, seems others have had issues with that as well.

Is Bob back in business? I thought he had passed away from health issues?

I saw other posts (some old, some new) here on KLOV referencing Chad, so I was going to grab the stuff from him.

A side question - one I didn't see mentioned anywhere.

Is there any temporary fixes that can be done to the flyback to give it a few more months of better operation?

I've been away for a bit. I didn't hear that Bob had died though.

Don't take what I said as fact at all. I thought I remember reading a thread on here - hopefully, he was just sick.

Edit: Ah, good - I'm wrong. Ignore me -

Sorry for raising the wrong flag there. I'm really glad he's okay. Hell, I even donated to his fund, I guess I'm getting too old, my memory's going.
