But I just don't get this post at all. You say you want it to stay as is, but you are keeping almost half the games. The arcade will be only a shell of what it is now. You also say you can't stand to see the games walk out 1 machine at a time, but then threaten to wholesale them and that they will certainly be parted out. So you can live with them being parted but not leaving the arcade in one piece ?
You (and a couple others) are misunderstanding what I'm saying.
I refuse to see my games get taken out the door
one at a time piecemeal. I can't bear it.
Could YOU?
If I "wholesale" the collection, Lloyd comes to my house with a huge fucking truck and it's all gone. I can be at work that day or something. I don't have to watch it. That's the difference. I will not sell my collection 1 game at a time. I have to make a clean break. Everything goes. Period. Either to Lloyd, or Quarter Arcade - to be wholesaled and parted out. Luna City dies. OR - somebody buys the building keeps it alive.
Yes, I am keeping some of my favorite games. I was asked "why?".
Because I want to keep them.
m,kay?
If it was not clear from my original post that I am still passionate about these games and do NOT want to see them scattered to the wind, then I apologize. Read my post again. But I'm moving on and I'm keeping a small collection. That's pretty understandable, no?
I think if you look at the list of games that you get with the arcade, I don't think ANYBODY would walk into the place and say "WTF is this crap?". Crystal Castles, Tail Gunner, some premo pinball machines, Missile command, Dragon's Lair, Atari Football, Gravitar, Reactor, and a TON of extremely RARE games. I'm selling the
arcade. You get a majority of games included in the deal.
To be clear, there are 85 games total.
52 games for sale.
33 games not.
All the posters on the wall alone are probably worth $10k (what I paid for them anyway).
And all the millions of parts boards, marquees, brand new CPO's, brand new side art, IC chips, transistors, etc.
The $800 of blacklights, the neon fans, the blacklight carpeting (which was about $15k just for that).
I can't believe people are beating me up over this. If the arcade building theoretically came with NO games but everything else, ANYBODY on this discussion group would still
piss their pants to have this place as their own. So please stop questioning my motives or how I'm "ruining the collection" by taking some of MY games with me. You using the word "threatening" is a little over the line in my opinion.
I am giving the world
one final shot at keeping Luna City alive. If you aren't personally interested, then please stop pointing and staring at me. Okay?
