Man, what an opportunity. My wife and I are looking to move, and I was thinking if this was driveable to my job every day I'd offer a house swap. But unfortunately, it would be a heck of a drive from Linden VA to Baltimore every day according to the map I'm looking at.

Maybe he will do some "golden tickets" on eBay like this guy:

Mr Willie WANKER himself!!! :D

It sucks to see it come to this. As for him taking the "good" games. Consider it an opportunity to RE-FILL the arcade... sheesh.

Damn man.. that sucks. Your arcade has inspired alot of us and its sad to see that it might go..

hey, the wife wants to live around dc so she can put her poly si degree to use again.

now if only i was rich lol... man i thought property was expensive in chicago!!!

getting a place like yours is the only way id be motivated enough to move out there.
What a shame man. Rest assured, if i had the capital, id really go for it.

Good luck with the sale Peter. I certainly can't afford it, and am on the wrong coast, but hopefully you find the right buyer to keep Luna City alive.

I agree with Frizz, if you have the coin to plunk down on this place, you probably have the coin to replace the games he's taking with him. I'd still be interested if he was pulling all of the games but leaving everything else there, there's a crapload of posters, signs and other memorabilia already there, in addition to the games... plus who here doesn't already have games that they would want to bring with them?
Anyhow good luck with the sale, here's hoping you find your charlie. I'm off to see if I can find the golden ticket, LOL.

I can only comment on real estate prices as they compare to the area around me, but a 3300 foot house alone would command nearly your asking price. Sounds like a screaming deal to me.

It really bummed out to see this post, but relieved to see that you are keeping some games. Your arcade was basically what I showed friends as an example of the perfect setup.

Good luck!

First of all , I am sorry for your loss that lead to the possible demise of Luna City. But I just don't get this post at all. You say you want it to stay as is, but you are keeping almost half the games. The arcade will be only a shell of what it is now. You also say you can't stand to see the games walk out 1 machine at a time, but then threaten to wholesale them and that they will certainly be parted out. So you can live with them being parted but not leaving the arcade in one piece ? I will most likely get flamed for this but I am sincerely just trying to make sense of it all.

Word!!!!!!!

You (and a couple others) are misunderstanding what I'm saying.

I refuse to see my games get taken out the door one at a time piecemeal. I can't bear it.

Could YOU?

If I "wholesale" the collection, Lloyd comes to my house with a huge fucking truck and it's all gone. I can be at work that day or something. I don't have to watch it. That's the difference. I will not sell my collection 1 game at a time. I have to make a clean break. Everything goes. Period. Either to Lloyd, or Quarter Arcade - to be wholesaled and parted out. Luna City dies. OR - somebody buys the building keeps it alive.

Yes, I am keeping some of my favorite games. I was asked "why?".

Because I want to keep them.

m,kay?

If it was not clear from my original post that I am still passionate about these games and do NOT want to see them scattered to the wind, then I apologize. Read my post again. But I'm moving on and I'm keeping a small collection. That's pretty understandable, no?

I think if you look at the list of games that you get with the arcade, I don't think ANYBODY would walk into the place and say "WTF is this crap?". Crystal Castles, Tail Gunner, some premo pinball machines, Missile command, Dragon's Lair, Atari Football, Gravitar, Reactor, and a TON of extremely RARE games. I'm selling the arcade. You get a majority of games included in the deal.

To be clear, there are 85 games total.
52 games for sale.
33 games not.

All the posters on the wall alone are probably worth $10k (what I paid for them anyway).

And all the millions of parts boards, marquees, brand new CPO's, brand new side art, IC chips, transistors, etc.

The $800 of blacklights, the neon fans, the blacklight carpeting (which was about $15k just for that).

I can't believe people are beating me up over this. If the arcade building theoretically came with NO games but everything else, ANYBODY on this discussion group would still piss their pants to have this place as their own. So please stop questioning my motives or how I'm "ruining the collection" by taking some of MY games with me. You using the word "threatening" is a little over the line in my opinion.

I am giving the world one final shot at keeping Luna City alive. If you aren't personally interested, then please stop pointing and staring at me. Okay?

I'm sure Peter is very comforted by all the 'wish I could afford it' and 'if it were only closer' posts.

Very helpful. Thank you.

-Peter

The irony is that realistic expectations are meant to be helpful, such was the spirit in offering them. I hope you find your Charlie by the way, your work deserves to be carried on.

Peter, we have never met or talked. But I understand.
Im a huge fan. Im another guy who thought, hey I got me a mini luna city here with 10 machines.
I always bump your retro arcade radio that you gifted to game gavel.com etc.

I understand what your doing and why.
I kinda did that getting out of the automotive hobby I had for years. It all comes full circle eventually.
As elliot in the morning would say, Peace and axel grease brotha! :)

God - I hope that KLOV is not your only hope - this is the wrong place to be looking for someone to spend more than $150 on a game much less buy your house, land and arcade.

Good luck Peter. Don't pay attention to the negative posts. For some reason they have to come out on anything in the "for sale" category.

If this were in the for sale section there'd be some bans going on for price policing. Peter I don't think I've ever even said your name in my lifetime but none the less you have a reason, doesn't matter what anyone thinks, ask what you want because you are entitled to and good luck to you and the Mrs.
