anybody see this teaser pic on stern's facebook page today?

Wow, I really hope that's a joke.

If not, ugh!

Chris

No he's right on the money unfortunately. This news broke around a month ago.
Avatar better kick some SERIOUS ass to make up for the financial bomb that this machine is about to unleash on Sterns check book.
My gosh, seriously Rolling Stones? I can't even stand listening to GNR (sweet child O mine riff) over and over let alone the Stones crappy music. GACK!!!!!!
Most Stones fans are too old to even go out anymore let alone to play pinball. For cryin out loud why don;t they pick a band that is hot within the last 5 years. Not to promote anyones music but Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Nickleback and the countless others that could be used instead.
I've said this before, I really do believe it'll take one more bad machine to break Sterns back. Who knows though, I'm not an Elvis fan and that seems to be fun and selling well? Just sayin .....

UGH... I really hope that was a joke by the stern employee.

I haven't played Avatar but the gentelman I talked to last night said it's a turd =(

I not a hugh Stern fan but I desperately want to see them making pins.

How about another kiss machine? I know a lot of people will say nah, but the older machines are still in demand and the band still has a huge worldwide following. My other choice would be ac/dc.

Rolling Stones? Now thats just Silly. It's way too late for that.
Who's gonna buy that? Better yet be attracted on site to play it?

I bet KISS would sell more than Rolling Stones and I would expect it to do better on location but admittedly I have no clue about pins on location. They could do the Psycho Circus type art. I am no KISS fan but that could be pretty cool. Who knows how much the license would cost though. I'm sure that's a huge factor.

I'm sure a few few people found GNR a bit undeserving but you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel with those 3 bands. The Stones are legends, should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Nickleback.

My wife, bless her heart, has to hear so much about pinball all the time and even worked me with on our Chicago vacation to involve pinball, had a an idea. So she knows what STERN has been doing lately with the licensing and so forth. So I tell her about the Rolling Stone pin and we chat a bit.

A McDonalds pin. I know, I know but hear her out. A lot of McDs have play areas, and although they are not chucky cheese, they could have a Mcpin on location. It would be huge for stern.

I live in Lincoln NE, which is a college town and we are a huge test market. We got crystal pepsi, the current BK fries, KFC double down, I believe pretzel M&Ms, and some strange as heck McDonalds here before other places.

We had the McDonalds 3 in 1, which was pretty awesome actually. Getting a french dip or chicken fried steak with fries was cool. We also have one here that is all fancy and has a free megatouch.

Hamburglar wizard mode? Bounding balls off grimmace.......

the caption on the pic reads:

"Hmm new drawing in the hallway"

thoughts?

Pretty sure those are the remodel plans for what ever business will be moving in, after Stern loses their ass for the last time and has to shut the doors for good.

Seriously, all they have been doing is cutting costs and making pins that dont work. The Cosco thing will not bail them out either. That just devaues the product even more. Bye bye pinball. grab those classic Williams while you can.

GNR was huge at the time, in fact they opened up for the Rolling Stones on their tour.
Slash also had a hand in designing the game which was cool too. They also billed it as the loudest pinball ever made. But all of this was back when it was about drawing people in on location.

The GNR I played was in the University of Arkansas student union. Pretty much the reason I own one today.

really hope the rolling stones thing was a joke....hell, i'd rather not see any type of band pin right now.

You're missing the point completely. These are newer bands that kids and adults a like can recognize. Kiss is a much better option as far as legendary bands. Hell even my 9yr old daughter pointed out Kiss in a Halloween catalog last night. And then she started singing Rock n Roll all night. I don;t EVER play Kiss in my house. How did she know that? Rock Band or Guitar Hero I would assume.
Regardless - GNR was an awesome band. My only beef with that pin is that god damned sweet pile o shit guitar riff. If I could turn that off I'd buy one. Speaking of - can that be shut off?
