Hey all-
I always liked this machine, and was thinking it might be cool to own one of these someday. From what I believe this machine comes apart into two pieces. With the machine apart, is each section of the machine, the same or smaller than a average arcade cabinet? The reason I ask, is that the entry to my staircase downstairs is pretty tight. I've managed to get all the machines I've wanted down there so far, but some have been a VERY tight squeeze. (Spy Hunter, 720, Outrun). If I managed to squeeze these down, would a 2049 (when taken apart) be doable?

Yes, the game splits in 2, with the seat coming off. the main cab is then about 33" wide and just under 30" deep. I had to lower the steering wheel to get it in my house. The blue plastic "marquee" can also be removed if need be. The game is still pretty damn heavy and is not really "small" tho.

cheers

p.s. It's worth pretty much whatever it takes to get this inside... awesome driver :)

I have a pair. As with most atari games of that era, they had optional wheels so it will roll nice on a flat surface. But its a pretty big cabinet. You can remove the front bezel and pull the monitor to lighten the weight, but it a standard cabinet was a tight fit, I don't think you will fit it. If you got an MK style cabinet into your basement, then maybe.
