I played the crap out of this game when I was in college in the early 90's at our local pool hall. Picked one up on GreedBay back in March shortly after I began my addiction. Haven't played in many weeks as I worked on other projects, life getting in the way and recovering from knee surgery, but just got done schooling the computer (pics cuz it DID happen!). Yeah, I suppose NFL Blitz has better game play/graphics/etc... Whatever. I still like this one.

I've tried to play on my Vertical MAME... i wasn't too impressed. Perhaps it's time to re-visit.

I think this is one of those games were mame cant do a good job. QB has a pretty strange "joystick" that you use to bring the pass icon up and then you release the it to throw it.

I'm a fan. Really wish I had the room to get one. The dedicateds are pretty big. I think they come with a 33" monitor.

The stick you use to pass is spring loaded. Nifty little control design. Lots of fun.

Yes - it's a 25" WG monitor. At least that's what it's supposed to have. Guy I got mine from had it for about 10 years. The guy he'd gotten it from stuck a 19" WG in it. I'm still working to get that corrected.

The spring-loaded pass/kick joystick is very cool indeed. It's the same as the one in World Series Baseball - a great baseball game. Cabinet is pretty standard upright size.

Like the OP, I played the heck out of some Quarterback back in the day. It was actually my senior year of High School, and after school I would go up to the arcade and play one full game (8-12 quarters depending on which arcade I went to). Loved that it kept your stats, and loved the passing control.
I have played it on mame, but the passing is no fun without the spring loaded stick. Still hope to get one of these if the right opportunity comes along.

The one I played had joysticks similar to a countertop playchoice 10. It was glorious with those joysticks, you could directly control the force of the throw. Ive been looking for one since my childhood but never seem to be able to find one.

This.

You're looking for the whole game? I know someone near me who has one that you could probably have for relatively cheap, but shipping is going to be a bitch. ;)

I've always been intrigued by these Leland games. The PCBs look like they were made by the same boardhouse that made the Dragon's Lair PCBs, as they have the same gold traces, dark green fiberglass, and overall style. I've never played the game, but have always found them interesting, and wondered if anyone was into them.

I have a couple of spare sticks also, if anyone needs some. These are the analog spring-loaded ones. I think they were used on Cinematronics Baseball as well.

Would like a whole game (if it will fit through my aracde room door) only if it was a fair price and fairly close to me. I have seen several for sale in different parts of the country, but always too far away.

I'd be interested in one of those joysticks! How much for one?

I'm actually converting one back to a Leland quarterback. it was a dedicated converted to a 48-n-1 by a previous owner. I've managed to acquire the pcb, wiring harness and marquee.

Looking for the cpo and side art if anyone has one.

Does anyone have the cabinet dimensions (just need the width really)? Haven't seen them on my usual sources online and would like to know if one will even fit through my door. The cab is tall for sure, but don't know if it's wide.

Is this game related in anyway to John Elways quarterback? I'm guessing not...?

This might be a good place to mention this, I figured something interesting out years ago. There's a cocktail (sit down) version, and the standup version.

On the standup version, you switch sides depending on who has the ball... but they can't do that on the sitdown version, because you'd have to stand up and switch sides, so it works with a dual set of controls.

So instead of making it change with different dipswitches for the sitdown and the upright, there's a different set of roms! Which apparently have never been dumped.

I had a one missing a board a couple years ago and played hell finding the right board for it...

I never knew that a sitdown version existed until I saw on on Craigslist in Minnesota. Beautiful game that was for sale for well over a year (maybe even many years as I saw a thread from 2009 where someone mentioned the same game in the same place for sale) for $400. Looked really cool.

Maybe best arcade football game ever.
Most of the ones around my way got the Aerofighters treatment.
Like seriously EVERY ONE of them.
I even kitted one to AF. Had to. Because money.
