Hi everyone,

I see what has happened here, so I wanted to clear things up.

There was no hidden auction going on, or any negotiations at all. As soon as I saw the post I PMed Chris and said I wanted it, and asked how much it would cost. He told me his price. I asked some questions about the tube. Before I got an answer I had to go to work. When I got off work I checked my messages and he had answered my questions satisfactorily, and said that there were other people waiting in line but that he was waiting to hear if I wanted it or not since I was first. I did want it, so I sent a Paypal payment. It was very simple.

I kind of wish I was not first though. I hate being part of any drama and I don't want people to be mad at me because I'm the one who got it.

Don't sweat it Xyla, you played your part in a very cut and dry transaction that honestly has been given far more explanation than it ever deserved. I appreciate your style of business and i hope you feel the same. Anybody that expressed their worthless, negative opinion on the matter can simply get bent as far as i'm concerned.

Chris has always been a straight shooter...those trying to create drama need to get a life...if you can't afford the part that is not the fault of Chris..I really believe some of the drama on this site is simple jealousy and people not really being able to afford what they want so they simply bitch at anyone who sells something for what it is actually or perceived to be worth by the person purchasing it...great find for buyer and good sale..end of story.

FYI If someone wants to post a For Sale and take offers that is their right to do so...I'm tired of people bitching about how people want to sell their shit and prices listed ......simply ignore the post if you don't like selling practices or the price...don't flood the post with your whining about this and that...I mean really how hard is it.

Ordinarily, no. Given the tone of this thread, yes. I doubt that his posting the price here would be greeted with a "Thanks, good to know!".

This isn't a hard equation. You want to know what it's worth? Easy.

A NOS tube sells for $200-225, as evidenced many times here on the forums (As low as $150 as little as a year ago). A used one with burn is worth maybe half that.

What was paid for this one? Irrelevant.

I paid $950 for my Amp Monitor with reworked HV board and nice Deflection board plus NOS tube - worth every cent!!
