Picked this up today. Never heard of it or seen it before, so I figured why not. Watched some game play on YouTube and it looked pretty cool. I kinda regretted my decision after I got outside and realized it weighed as much as a Pinto and was twice as big. No tube burn tho. Yippee! It'll take days just to clean it up. Smells like mouses too. 🤢

I don't hate War Gods. But I don't really play it either. We have one on location in town and i feel like I gave it a descent go. Its just not as fun as Mortal Kombat series or Street Fighter 2 (I have both of those) and I don't remember it back in the day like i do things like Virtua Fighter, Soul Caliber, Tekken. etc.

But those are great cabinets, though as you pointed out very heavy. If you got a deal on it then i would clean it up and play the heck out of it for a while before moving it on to someone else to love.

Never cared for it BITD... I was kind of over fighting games and such at the time and this just seemed to be yet another of a boring line of Street Fighter wannabes.

That's a rough looking game.
You should have seen the dumpster fire it came out of. It's a miracle anything survived. It may clean up nice though. I have the plastic bezel and it just needs the glass that went over it. It is filthy!

Had no idea that existed!
I'm not a fighting game guy though.
Except for Karate Champ.
Me either on both statements. This one has great music and art, and apparently some humor in the fighting.

Yeah, whoever worked on that concept had some fun with it for sure- and did a little research apparently!
Hilarious.

I had fun with it when I owned it. I never played it much back in the day, I was definitely more into KI, MK and SF2, but when I had the chance to pick one up I said what the hell. It's different and definitely has a learning curve for the 3D and the combos. What you are used to from other fighting games doesn't translate well to War Gods. Does it work? I had to get a new hard drive for mine...among almost everything else to get it working. Clean it up, have some fun with it and when you want to sell it, someone will want it because you don't see it that often.

Here is a link to my old pickup thread for fun...

I played it a bit in the arcade and bought a board for my MK cab. I think it has a standard resolution setting. It wasn't terrible and ended up liking it the more I played. It was a stepping stone to making MK4 with the 3D button to move the player in/out of the way of projectiles. Similar with special moves and fatalities of MK4. If you like those fighting games you may like this one.
