Anybody know what a "daughter board" on a Sega arcade game is?
On MAME and the new Model 3 emulator called "Supermodel", the games like "The Ocean Hunter", "Emergency Call Ambulance", and "Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders" have a message saying "NO DAUGHTER BOARD DETECTED". And it looks like the game is missing a part to it, maybe because it's too complex to hook up. I could be wrong.
But a guy named Bart Trzynadlowski, who is the programmer for Supermodel, says that it might be the board that uses MPEG (DSB1 and 2 sound boards), or force feedback.
If the board is on there, it'll say "DAUGHTER BOARD WAS DETECTED". Someone like Radiac might know what this is.
But does anybody know about this board?
