Arcadecreations had a bunch of boards for sale on eBay last month and I bought a bunch. I am still waiting. Does anybody know who Scott is? Did anybody else buy boards and get their stuff or get stiffed?

I have sent several emails and I got 1 reply from "Scott" that said his "ebay guy quit" and that he would ship the next day and get me a tracking number. That was a month ago. So far no boxes, no tracking number and now no replies to emails.

I am about to run out of dispute time and need to file the dispute today, so if anybody knows him, let him know I am pissed.

While I would very much rather have the boards, I guess I am going to have to settle for trying to get a refund.

I bought a game from him a couple of years ago and never had a problem. I wish I still had his cell # to help you out. Good luck.

Never heard of toolhaus.com...?

Hope you get your stuff or money back, Ken. You are good people, and definitely don't deserve this. :(

Look at all the negatives/neutrals this guy has!! I would never have bought from him seeing this and definately will not in the future.

Unfortunately, all the negs happened after I won the auctions and paid for the boards :(.

Thanks for the kind words Jawhn, but when you buy more than a couple of things here and there, you will get burned. As I originally said, I would much rather have the boards, but at this point, I am guessing I won't get a refund either.

Just as a final update. I filed the disputes with EBay a week ago. I filed one for each item just to CMA. This morning I got 7 emails from the Ebay Dispute Center asking if it had been resolved. I used their form and replied that "I have not received any emails, items or refunds.". About 10 minutes later I got 7 "you have been issued a refund" emails. A quick check of PayPal showed the refunds pending (3 business day hold), so we'll see what I finally end up with when it is all done.

The last time that I had a dispute on ebay, Paypal and ebay backed their 'Buyer Protection' logo and got me my refund. Hope you are able to get your refund.

If the seller has no funds at all for the refund, I wonder if ebay and Paypal refund the buyer out of their deep, deep, deep pockets?

Shocking. Something happened to this seller pretty recently then, because I bought 5 or 6 untested boards from him back in November and couldn't be happier. Every one of them was complete and working 100%.

Many of those old negs are from fools buying untested boards expecting them to be good, or not looking closely at pics to determine there was chips missing before bidding. But this situation is clearly above and beyond that. Good luck, and I'm sure eGay/GayPal will side with you - they ALWAYS do :)

According to the emails I have received from Ebay, it is supposedly covered by the "EBay buyers protection" so I don't really care who pays. I am just pissed because I would really much rather have the boards.

It is very strange because there have been a bunch of positives praising him as a seller and a small number of negatives. All it would have taken is a "here is your delivery confirmation number" or a "I have been swamped, but I'll get it out". But when I get a lame excuse about "my Ebay guy quit but I'll ship tomorrow and get you a delivery confirmation number" and then nothing for 3 weeks (now much longer) there is a problem. Either he lost the items, his "Ebay guy" shipped them to the wrong person or just walked with them???? Just tell me, we can work it out.

Silence is bogus.

If the seller has no funds at all for the refund, I wonder if ebay and Paypal refund the buyer out of their deep, deep, deep pockets?

The answer to that is that the refunds bounce. All 7 refunds bounced. Which is interesting in that he pulled the auctions he had going and now that the refunds have bounced he has another game for sale. What a douche. I sent one more email and if I don't hear from Scott, I will attempt to request that eBay pull his account for his actions.

The message I sent this morning:

Scott,
What is going on? First you tell me that you are going to ship the seven items I bought and give me a tracking number so I know that they shipped. Then you stop responding to my emails. I was force to get the EBay Resolution Center involved and now your "refunds" have bounced.
The arcade collecting community is pretty small and is it worth having your reputation trashed over not shipping 7 items?
If you don't respond, I will need to engage Ebay further and it is likely that in view of recent performance that they will suspend your account. I would much rather reach an amicable agreement, but if you insist on ignoring my emails, you leave me with no other choice.

P*ssed does not begin to describe my mood this morning.

Somebody get the Michael eating popcorn picture ready. After the nastygram I sent I got the following response:
Ken,

Sorry about all the issues. Per the request
through ebay I refunded the money in paypal.

I was not aware that
paypal had bounced the refund. I am sorry. I will get this corrected.

I was not able to find some of the boards to ship them out to you.

Thank You,

Scott

That was on January 11. I responded with the following on January 11th:

Hi Scott,

Thanks for responding. If you have any of the boards, I would
much rather have the boards then the cash. If you could just send the
boards you have and refund for the ones you can't find, that would be good
enough.

I hope you understand, I was not trying to pimp you. There is a
limited time to file disputes and I had not heard from you since the email
where you said that you were going to send the boards. I waited until
almost the last day to file with Ebay.

On the 13th Scott respnded with:

Ken,

I'll send out what I can today.

thanks,

Scott

Cue the sound of crickets. It is 12 days later and I have received the following:
- no emails with tracking numbers
- no packages
- no refunds

Now why am I so surprised? I went out and checked and he has 38 auctions running at the moment. Almost all of them are for $600+ video games.

Sorry, but this guy is a douche (the e-bay seller, not the OP). He should be booted from E-bay, but you can just get a new e-mail and sign back up with a new user name :(

Hope you can get SOME resolution out of this.

I am not sure how the refund process works. I sent a buyer and item, he took it apart and broke it and mailed it back to me. eBay refunded him because the item was broken and returned and then let me keep the purchase price because the buyer took it apart.

Well as far as I can tell, Ebay was satisfied because he "refunded" my purchase when he had no money in his account and he must have locked his bank account so they couldn't draw from it. Paypay was satisfied because it was an Ebay issue. He is obviously satisfied because he has 30+ machines on sale and has my money and my boards. The only one not satisfied is me.

PS: Thanks for MJ. This has been a freaking spectacle.

I would call ebay and speak to an actual representative or live chat with one. I waited on hold for an hour + but it was worth it. I got my $400 back. They were actually the ones who reimbursed me.

Worst case scenario you get his contact info through ebay which they will give you and call the police in his town. Passing a bad check or sending a bad payment is a crime.

Fortunately, it won't come to that. When I got home tonight there was a box waiting on my porch. Inside were the 7 boards I paid for 2 months ago.

I don't know what caused Scott to finally ship the boards, but I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. It would have taken 10 seconds for him to send the tracking number as it was sent with delivery confirmation, but he didn't even do that.
