They are cool, I have a strip in my Orbitor 1 pinball. Check Ebay, you can get a 7' RGB strip, controller, remote, and power supply for about $40

i just ordered mine yesterday

edit: i paid no where near that price tho :D

I have a few sets..

I used 10 meters for my bar shelving. I have a remote and can set the lights to stay on one particular color, flash between colors, or cycle slowly through the colors. It's pimp.

Have another 5m on my TRON:Legacy pinball game, set to stay on blue. The ones I used have a 3M glue strip on the back, but if you're going to apply to anything vertical or on the underside of something, use SuperGlue to ensure it stays in place.

Hmm... So if I wanted to outline both edges of my steps where the wall meets the steps leading down to my arcade, could I use these to have alternating colors per step? Like a red step, a blue step, a green step, etc. without any cycling of colors, just the colors staying the same per step. Is that possible with a single set?

Depends on the lights and the programming. The ones I've seen either use a single LED for all colors or have a different LED for each color all in a row on the strip. None of the ones I've seen allow for segmenting the strip. HOWEVER, the strips are well-marked and have sections where you could likely cut the strip and make your own modifications. I don't see why someone couldn't cut the strips up and wire a transformer to each strip and send a signal to turn on the desired color.

We're talking 5m strips too. You can daisy-chain the strips to each other to run in parallel, up to the limits of the transformer, which is what I did with the bartop's lighting.
