Anybody have a decent original Marble Madness panel to loan for repro

Ive been wanting to do this repro for years. Silly me, I traded away my NOS to a guy whose email now bounces. He isnt on the forums, he found me through eBay.

Scott Evans cant seem to find the films and I shouldve waited to find this out before I traded mine away

If you have an unfaded and in decent condition cpo on your panel I would like to borrow it. Email me and we can work something out.

Every single repro Ive come across is very poor. I think all MM fans deserve a proper repro and I want to sell one to you!

So awesome that you are looking into reproing these! I can't wait to see what you come up with :001_sbiggrin:

No more emails. Ive got several lined up if my first option falls through.

I could get this done rather quickly. Like 4 weeks. Yahoo!

Just wanted to let everyone know this is in the works and will be done right, finally.

My artist already started working on the art portion.

No preorders needed. Hope to have these out by Tgiving if all goes well. But dont hold me to it.

I hired a new artist recently and gave him the job yesterday. The art file is 90% done already and it looks awesome. Nothing can stop this train!

What would you estimate you're going to ask for this piece of artwork?

Wiz may want to consider lowering his price for his last piece.

;)

I installed a repro and thought it looked pretty nice --- what did you not like? (pic avail on link below)

But they are hard to find now, so I think it is great you are doing this!

I didnt know Tom Wiz made them. I dont believe Ive seen one of his and I dont want to directly call anyone out. I have Toms Tapper handle decals and his MCR switcher and Im quite pleased with them.

I just looked at Toms site and I dont believe Ive had the chance to see his repro in person. Cannot judge it from a grainy pic. However since he is down to his last one, he like many others (myself included) price their final piece(s) much higher than if they had plenty of stock. Although when Im really low I pull stuff from my site and use it for trade or for the person who needs it really bad and is willing to pay top dollar.

I hope if Tom is reading this he doesnt take offense to my comments. I dont believe Ive seen his repro in person. Although I may have without knowing its his. He probably didnt make much money on these and was doing it because he needed one himself.

Cheers

The repros Ive personally seen or bought over the years have had one or more of the following issues:

not die cut (which is a major problem around the trackballs)(mine will be LASER die cut which is really the only way to do it right), wrong texture, not screen printed, colors are off, wrong font, clearcoated high gloss finish not original, cheap poly which causes premature cracking, cheap adhesive which causes lifting and can contribute to premature cracking.

Ive done many MM restorations over the years and used to have a nice pile of NOS cpos. Then I turned to repros and ugh, didnt like any of them. I dont do restos like I used to because of my health, but damnit the next one I do I sure would like to have a proper repro that is at least 95% accurate. Hopefully 99% when we're done.

I bought a couple of Tom's repro's. At immediate first glance I was disappointed at the shiny finish too. However, that is because there is a clear protective sheet on them. After taking that off, I thought it looked great. I haven't looked at them in a while, but if I recall, he purposely left off the the Atari part number in the extreme lower right corner so that you could distinguish an original from his.

Im talking about an ACTUAL high gloss FINISH which is not a protective sheet. Again, not saying its his. But whoever made it that way did a very poor job.

If Tom left off the Atari part number that was his call. Most collectors want it on there.
