I really need the wire that goes from the flyback to the focus block and especially the insulating boots that go over the connectors on the focus block.

Does anyone have a worn out or dead G07 flyback that could help me with those parts?

A G08 version of these would be ideal but the G07 should work too and is far more likely.

I'd be happy to pay for shipping and a bit for your trouble -- can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance!

Thought I said I'd get these for you.

I have lots of dead flybacks...

Oh -- I thought you said you'd check but I never heard more.

That would be fabulous -- I think that wire and insulating boot(s) would get my G08 running again.

Thanks!

Mod, does that G07 focus assembly come with the flyback or is that something that comes with the monitor?

that's generally on the chassis, additionally those little rubber boots are part of the chassis as well. With that being said Mod is a stud and can get you anything I'm sure.

It's barely been 24 hours since you asked, I think. I'll check tonight...

Great, so the wire I'm interested in and the boot are both not part of the flyback. :(

I think there are a couple of things I can do if I don't get the parts I need but none of them are as clean as simply getting the right replacement parts.

BTW, I want to put a molex connector in the wire that connects the focus pot to the neckboard on my G08 so I don't have to unsolder it every time I pull the chassis. Any idea if this will cause any issues down the road or is a bad idea?

Sorry, I thought it'd been a couple of days -- maybe because I'm hot to get this thing fixed. It's been a major PITA since I got it and after much procrastination I finally tore into it and I'm so close to getting it right... Probably too focused on it right now.

Got stuck tonight. I'll check tomorrow for sure.

As for that wire, you can solder-splice in some of the thicker wire (like anode wire) with heat shrink and it will be fine...

I don't have any of that either -- I run too lean of an operation here. :)

That wire to the focus block would have to come with dead G07 flybacks, right?

I do this all the time. Almost all of my G08 chassis that I've tested/worked on have crimped bullet connectors on them so I can interchange and test. No problems.

Oh- by the way- once you get it working, you will probably never pull it unless you are testing another chassis. Mine has been going for years.

That's good to hear. By bullet connector do you mean just the standard Molex plugs?

BTW, the more I think about this the more convinced I am that I need more wire to splice into both of those wires going to the focus block. The reason why the insulating boot is bad on that one wire is likely because it's under too much tension and that caused the boot to crack due to the bend.

Something like this (and its mate)

That's an odd looking beast.

It looks like it's set for 14-16g wire so that's good.

Why did you go with that vs a molex plug? Or put another way, I have molex .093 plugs on hand, should I use one or go buy that beast?
