I think I'll get one. If I buy it on Amazon I can use my points on my AMEX credit card and get one for free.

I already have a Neo Geo 4-slot cab but since I have the Neo Geo Pocket Color, the Neo Geo X will really compliment the collection. I'm hoping that later on down the line somebody learns how to hack the hardware and make it play Neo Geo roms from an SD card.

I wasn't going to, but then I caved. I put one on reserve the other day. Also there's a thread on this thing somewhere.

I am. Just for the joysticks!! Stoked. Never had a neo geo and love the games and its a handheld. Hell yes

Whether or not you get a "X Gold", you still need a Neo Geo sir. It is a must have as far as I am concerned. Just be like YieArKade and collect the whole set.

I'm sure I will as well, though I've been on the fence since I first heard about it. SNK-P doesn't really have much, if anything, to do with this, but...it's still Neo-Geo, so...

EDIT: Thanks for sharing the videos, this was the first I'd seen "hands on." I'm glad to see the stick finally and know that it's using original parts. Also, with them being USB, I'm really looking forward to the inevitable PC hack/custom driver.

Only thing I'm bummed about is that the docking station isn't one where the X connects as if it were an AES cart. It sits inside the clamshell case. And the 'AES' replica is half the size.

Oh well, it'll still be fun to use.

I think they made the docking station as a clamshell case so you can use it to store Neo Geo game cards. At least that's what I will do.

And would you really want it to unnecessarily take up the full foot-print of the original AES? Along with the full size joysticks, this set is going to take up some space in your game room/living room.

Thought the rumors of a Neo Geo handheld were just that rumors...

There is little chance I do not buy one of these as I am drooling now....:D

Seems like people will buy anything with Neo-Geo on it. Why doesn't someone just license the name and start building more consoles and AES carts?

Is this a knock on the X, and if so, why? This has the potential to be the best handheld made thus far, as far as I am concerned.

From my understanding it's some other company that has licensed the Neo-Geo name and put the games on a glorified emulator. It probably works fine, but personally I'd rather put that money towards a PSP which can emulate more consoles.

Based off the amount of interest its generated, it seems like the Neo-Geo brand itself sells better than it's rarity factor. Makes sense to just rebuild the high demand AES carts for a nice markup.

I see, makes sense. Thank you sir. But for $200 I am going to get it and compare game for game on my mvs-4. I have high hopes........

probably a dumb question, but will anyone actually be making new games for this, or are they just the original ones?
