Anybody else see the ads for the show that saws things in half?

I thought it was on the History Channel, but I couldn't find it in their line up. It is a show about a guy that cuts things in half to "find out how they work". One of the first things he cuts in half is a pinball machine and another one is a coin op pool table.

Why are our toys getting so much abuse lately?

First the human wrecking crew, then a shredder. Now some jackass with a chainsaw....Oh the humanity......

PS: If there is another thread about this, sorry I musta missed it.

I think that's Science Channel HD or Discovery Channel HD, though I'm not 100%. I've watched previous episodes of the show, it's pretty cool. Had no idea they'd hacked up a pinball table, that sucks.

I feel more sorry for the pinball machine. If they 'really' wanted to know how it works they would actually take it apart. They are just destroying stuff for entertainment value IMO. What a waste.

yeah , saw this too....Watched them cut up a new NBA pinball, by stern.

Even though the game sucks, doesnt mean they have to cut it up

what a f***ing idiot....
 I was in such a great mood with my encom badge
and then i saw that..
Thats a fricking waste.
THEY COME APART DUMB ASS IS IT THAT HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw portions of the episode where they cut the pool table in half. Basically it was to see why the cue ball always comes back out after a scratch, yet the other balls do not on a coin op table. It was pretty sad!

It's on the History channel and the show is called Sliced. In the commercial I saw, the guy cuts a pool table and what looks like a pinball. Edit: Found the link.

Thanks that's it. I thought the name was Sliced, but then part of me was saying, that's a stupid name, especially with all of their other "Quest" titles. I guess it should have been called "Stupidity (with power tools) Quest".

That is the theoretical answer. I want the real answer, so a pool table must be sacrificed to the gods of knowledge.

Actually, he probably picked it up out of the dumpster at the last SuperAuctions, so no useful pool tables were hurt during the filming of this episode..:D

Ah yes, The Hitler Channel's stab at that type of thing, I was confusing it with a show on either science or discovery from a while back.

Calling it the "History channel" is pretty much false advertising these days. Something like "Spike TV lite" or "The Reality Channel" would be more accurate.

Cutting shit in half to figure out how it works is about as retarded as you can get, which pretty much fits with the their new standard. I think they should find an X-ray machine and cut it in half to figure out how it works.

http://health.howstuffworks.com/x-ray2.htm - gives an example of x-ray tube wich produces the radiation. put the body part between x-ray tube and film and you have an x-ray. used tp like History channel until I saw the ad for this show.

Well, I watched it. The pool table part was OK. It would have been difficult to see how that worked without taking the top off. Since coin-op pooltables are a dime a dozen (go to any SuperAuctions), I don't have a problem with it.

The EM pinball was a working one. I don't recall the name, but it was working. There are thousands of non-working ones out there that would have worked just as well. Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Then they took a perfectly good NBA pin. Not my favorite, but still a fairly nice game. He wasted to see how the tilt worked. SH*T! Give me the damn pin and I'll show you how the F*ing tilt works without destroying it. I was traumatized. He hit the topglass about 10 times before he got a cold chisel and smashed it. And then chainsawed it. Oh, the humanity!

I'm traumatized for life.

Words fail me.

Do not watch this show. Watch any of the other ones, but for the sake of your sanity don't watch this one. It hurts too much.
