I hate to admit it but I'm a huge karaoke fan. I usually go to my local watering hole Saturday nights just so i can belt out some tunes. My friends have been telling me I need to add a karaoke system to my gameroom for when I have big parties. I was looking online and wasn't really sure what I needed or wanted to buy to make this work. Anybody have one in their gameroom already that they can recommend? I seriously don't want one of those $50 Target karaoke machines that I I'd be ashamed to even give as a present to a 5 year old. I want one that has an external monitor for the words, a couple mics, and a CDG or digital loading system. I already have a receiver with speakers mounted all around the gameroom. Any thoughts?

i have a nintaus dvd-d9600m dvd player with built in karaoke, looks great on the big screen, right now we are using it for jam vocals until I get my powered head. think i paid 40 bucks for it and I am sure you can find karaoke torrents somewhere on the net. came with 2 decent mics as well , just picked up a couple wireless for 30 bucks too

I have the Karafun app (along with about 700 tunes) installed on a 17" notebook, and whenever we do the karaoke thing at one of our arcade parties, I just hook it up to the PA that I have.

One could do the same with a stereo, though. Just run the audio from the notebook's headphone jack into the stereo receiver, and plug a good USB mic into the notebook -- which, of course, also acts as your monitor.

And if you already have a USB mic from the Karaoke Revolution or Rock Band games, just use that.

gameex has it built into their front end and it works nice (and when space is a problem its nice having my juke box/and karaoke built in one machine)

just open up the coin door plug in the usb mic and if i want i have a svid cable comingout the back so i can display everything on the big screen allong with audio cables to hook it all to the surond sound

I am a semi-retired mobile DJ, and have done hundreds and hundreds of karaoke shows. I run Karaoke via a laptop and 400GB external HD.

If anyone wants a copy of my 400 GB of Karaoke goodness, shoot me a PM.

If I have the songs, I can email them to you. My collection is current to about a year ago, when I stopped being a full time DJ.
