My wife's computer is having some issues...not sure if it's the motherboard yet or not, but if it is or if i can source an old laptop LCD from somewhere else, is there a way to use it for a PCB test rig? I've seen people use about everything else lol...but not a laptop screen. IF so, what would be involved?

A laptop screen will not work. It takes a digital signal directly from the computer. There isn't even a good way to connect a laptop computer screen to a desktop computer.

The signals aren't even remotely similar.

Your best bet for a test bench monitor is either a small arcade monitor, or an old computer monitor (pre-PC era, something like for the Commodore Amiga or the Apple IIgs).

yeah...its a G60 I think?

Haven't seen much on the G60, but the DV6000 and DV9000 models (and probably several others in that era) were *notorious* for all kinds of video and graphic problems, the video chipset would get so hot it would desolder itself from the board. That, and the onboard PCIe controller would fry and render the wireless inoperative. Worst. Laptops. Ever.
