I'm getting around to doing some of the artwork, and the rear/middle shroud art is giving me problems. I removed all the old art and glue from the shroud using alternating hits of goo gone and isopropyl, then cleaned with simple green and more isopropyl. I let dry for a week, then went back over it with a lint free/isopropyl lens cleaning cloths. I taped down the art in position for about 30 min. then applied. There's no problem with the wing pieces, but I have one of those creases that won't flatten out in the bottom corner of the rear art. I even pulled it up and tried working it out, but it's still there. I started application from the middle of the piece working towards the right side with a felt squegee, that went fine. Then I started the same procedure on the left and ended up with a crease. I verified that everything was sitting flat and proper before peeling off the backing, so I'm a bit puzzled. Could it have stretched if I applied too much force with the squegee? Should I have applied it from top to bottom rather than middle to side?

Also, for some reason, the bottom middle of this art is peeling away from the shroud. I clamped it down for 4 days and within a hour of release it started peeling away again. The top and sides are firmly in place and the wings are fine, just this bottom part is peeling (it doesn't want to keep that 'V' shape). One of the threads here said not to use spray adhesive as it may start to eat away the art. If so, what can be used?

If it can't be saved, I may just buy another set.

Where did the art come from, that has a lot to do with the answer.

It's from Darin (Phoenix Arcade). I have no doubt that it's high quality, and I don't think there's anything wrong with the set. I'm just not sure why only one section would refuse to stick as I prepped all the other pieces the same. I'm a bit more concerned with why I developed the creases, but this was the first art I've ever done. So I'm all ears for any tips. Especially since I'm going to do the inner art and side art whenever I finally finish the repair/painting of the cabinet.

Hard to say really, but it really sounds like you used way too much pressure applying things if I were to guess.

I also had same problem....the left art went on fine...no creases and stuck good...but the right side bubbled and peeled as well. Applied exact same way....still have a small bubble that will not stay struck to plastic...
