Any Shenmue (for the Dreamcast) fans here?

Did you see the blue car?
The blue car?
Yes did you see the blue car?
I saw a blue car.
You saw a blue car?
Yes, I saw the blue car.
Where was the blue car going?
The blue car was going east.
East? The blue car was going east?
Yes. The blue car was going east.
So you saw the blue car and it was going east?
Yes I saw the blue car and it was going east. The window was rolled down.
The window was rolled down on the blue car going east?
Yes the blue car was going east and the window was rolled down.
Thank you for telling me you saw the window rolled down on the blue car going east.

Literally every NPC interaction in that game.

It offered some of my first glimpses of Japanese culture. Like, there's some NPCs who squat on the sidewalk while they have a smoke, which I had never seen before and is apparently a uniquely Asian style of sitting. A lot of westerners don't even have the proper muscle development to physically "sit" like that.

I can't wait for the new one to come out. This was one of the best dreamcast games hands down and the dreamcast is still my favorite console of all time, so for me that's saying a lot.

Shenmue was the main reason I got a VGA box -- just so I could experience the game in all of its glory.

The game was way ahead of its time in my opinion (as was the Dreamcast itself)
Shenmue is a love it or hate it game for people... I happen to love it... but I must admit that I've never yet to this day actually completed the game! Whenever I start playing, I get caught up in exploring, talking to people, buying things from the shops and machines or playing games in the arcade, and before I know it, two hours have gone by and I didn't actually make any real game progress! :D

One day, I will knuckle-down and finish it... one day...

Nice article, man.

Absolutely a huge fan of Shenmue here. I have a goal of getting as many people as possible who were involved in the Shenmue games to sign this Hang-On marquee:

So far Lisle Wilkerson (English voice of Joy, Xiuying Hong / Lishao Tao, and Yuan in Shenmue II) and Masaya Matsukaze (Japanese voice of Ryo Hazuki in all games including Shenmue III).
