Any problems transporting a game in 0 degree temps?

I have a guy coming to pick up my Dig Dug cab this weekend. He's bringing a pickup truck to lay it down in the back. His concern was with the fact that the high temp on Saturday is supposed to be right around 0 degrees. Is there any issue with transporting a game in this kind of temperature? I told him we could very easily take out the bezel and marquee to put in the cab of his truck so they're not rattling around out in that cold. I also said the monitor would be easy to put in his truck and for him to put back in the cab when he got home but since this is his first game he said he would rather leave the monitor where it is so he doesn't have to deal with putting it back together. So, besides letting it get back up to room temperature before he fires it up is there anything else to be concerned with in transporting a game in this weather?

Maybe I'm being overly cautious but I just want to be safe so he doesn't get home with a busted up game.

I live in MN and its negative something degrees outside. I would say he is fine. I am actually going up to Superior, WI to pick up a game Sat night. If it's in the back of a truck, just make sure it's secure.

I brought my TMNT back over 200km in -12 weather and removed nothing, laying on it's back in a pickup, it made it just fine.

Just make sure it's strapped down so it can't bounce around, and it will move with the trucks motion. The problem is when it moves AGAINST the trucks motion and slams back down into the bed.

It'll be fine.

You can warm it up faster by pointing the exhaust side of the vacuum into the back of the cab

So is it even worth removing the bezel and marquee or should I just leave it?

I would remove those, extreme temperatures can harm the artwork or even cause stress cracks in the glass. As for the game, transport should be fine, but I'd wrap it up in something like a tarp or moving blanket just to be safe. And strap it in of course.

Agreed on removing the glass, minimum and putting it inside the vehicle. Those temps are guaranteed to make things shrink. You know what I mean.

Yeah make sure your driveway doesnt go downhill and then freezes over and when you have a game on dolly pulling it down make sure you can get grip or it will push you down and fall on top of you...trust me i know

Rapid temperature change is the only thing I would be worried about with screened glass. Taking it from the cold into a warm house for example. That's what's going to cause damage (flaking). I definitely wouldn't use any means of warming the game once it's inside. In fact if it were a pinball and I was moving it in cold temperatures I might even put a blanket over it once it's inside the house so the temperature equalizes more slowly.

Personally I probably wouldn't remove the bezel or marquee unless they felt like they might be damaged in transit from being loose. I've found the safest place for pieces of glass is generally in the game. I've seen a lot more glass broken out of the game than in it.
