I picked up a Roller Coaster Tycoon in excellent shape. It did have two issues, a large amount of wear around the flipper buttons and the front by the coin door has a pretty big scratch and a couple extra holes where a security bar was drilled.

jpl_812 mentioned off the cuff that Stern makes special side rails that have protection around the flipper area and I'm glad he did so I ordered a set of those to hide the wear around the flipper buttons.

What I want to do on the front is fill all the holes and remove the art just from the front of the unit. The rest of the cab is in great shape, does anyone know if I can buy replacement art for just the front of the cab? I know a full replacement set usually runs $250, I'm hoping just the front would be reasonable. Thanks!

I've never seen artwork for RCT. If you want a new front you will probably need to scan it, clean it up, and have someone print it out for you on an inkjet printer. It won't match the rest of the game though. I think I'd do the best I could to repair what you already have. Some people can do this so it's very hard to detect. Do you have pictures of the damage?

I'll take some pictures tonight... It's not THAT bad but everything else is so nice I would like to fix it up. Thanks.

I have the same issues with the front of my Taxi. Seems to me an opportunity for those that sell the entire kits to make some money off those of us that don't need the everything.

It's worth a try to contact the supplier of the artwork. I had the same problem where all I needed was the front artwork. They were able to offer me the front alone at a discount from the full set. Funny thing is they diamond plated the playfields but did nothing to protect the cabinet high-wear areas around the flipper and credit buttons. I am considering a removable mylar donut around my credit button after I replace the artwork.

Here is the front of my RCT. As you can see there is 1 bolt where someone tried to cover up one of the holes but there are two more and some other issues with the front of the machine. Maybe it's more of a touch up candidate anyway....

Honestly, I would just put a security bar back on. Just spray it really nice and re-do the coin door with the same paint.

It will look better and save you some money/time/frustration.

I actually took the security bar off, I don't really want it there but I can see where your coming from....
