Any Looping fans here?

Love Looping. Once I figured out how to play it, it was great! Not much value or demand on that game. I would put it as a classic with Turbo, JK, and Dig Dug level.

I never saw the coin-op, but I liked the Colecovision port.

Yeah, the controls are tricky and tough to get used to, especially considering that in the early 80s, the joystick on most games moved the game character immediately in the direction pressed (like Frogger or PacMan), as opposed to Looping's "realistic" climbs or descents, or loop the loops.

I never saw or played a dedicated one. Like the others said, I loved it on ColecoVision. It is emulated in MAME, but the old version I'm running (.84) crashes randomly.

Not sure if thats fixed in lastest version of MAME or not.

Tok I had the same issue...Can't even get past the 2nd level without it crashing!!! Anybody else having this problem? BTW the Colecovision port does kick a$$!

I saw a Looping, Front Line and Wild Western today. Had never seen the dedicated's before, pretty cool.

Looping

I love this game back then and it was the probably the first "talking" game I saw. The control scheme is hard to get use to but I kinda like it. I have a feeling this game bombed in the arcades cause of the controls and fodder for conversions. I would love to find a dedicated cab by me.....http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8452

I have 2 of them. I am selling one of them. There is pics of the one I have for sale in my Profile. It is Very, Very nice. Everything works, even the speech. You are not that far away.If you are interested, PM me and we can work something out.

Here, I will save you the trouble.

I just got the newest version of MAME to try it (136). Only spent a couple minutes playing though, so I can't say for sure if it's stable yet.

I did notice there are two versions now, the main game and a Revision A.

Yes, this is a very nice looking looping. Still very tempted!

Games

I know what you mean... I have a frenzy in the garage and an Ice Cold Beer... Then Two more games arrived in the garage as one left out of the game room. What gives?

It is a buyers market right now. If you have been doing this for a while and been through the high price era. it is hard to pass some of these deals up that have been going on lately.

Colecovision got me addicted to it, now I've got a PCB. Its main processor was cooked but I've replaced it, I just haven't gotten around to re-testing it yet, it's going to go in my living room cab with a multi-jamma switch.
