Any klovers at the downingtown auction?

Was supposed to go, but had a little too much fun last night watching the Devils shut out the Rangers. Interested in hearing the results!!

Didn't get pics.. Prices were okay but I think I am in the camp of not liking the seller buy back. I don't see how it differs from shill bidding. Just set a reserve and be done with it.

I don't think they were buybacks. But some of the guys who bought them were hanging around at the end of the auction and helped clean up

yeah me and wife were laughing about the mixer, random, we didn't even put one bid on any stuff, wasn't really impressed, there was this one dude buying everything i wanted and was way above what I felt what it was worth in that condition, etc. Took some pics:

hey cueball where you wearing the green Callahan brakes shirt? you were taking some good notes, i did most of mine from my horrible brain. I was wearing the VT hat and grey hoodie. Was that guy with the piercings (buying everything up) a KLOVer? Sometimes you wonder what they heck people are planning with these machines, maybe the next T2000 army.

Maybe I'm way off, but these seem really low. Were these buybacks as well?

Chris

The T2 wasn't a buyback but it was pretty bad IMO, rusted ramps, the whole cab/playfield seemed to be faded like the machine was either outside for some time or something, guy was pretty happy. I think the seller was the guy across the street who had an awesome little pinball arcade. Pinball Gallery www.pinballgallery.net. I had to go in to his shop, think his name was Eric, really cool. Asked if he had any Novus (maybe a good thing for pinball shops/arcade to carry?) and to see if he had some since this stuff only seems to be available online. Had a nice Judge Dredd machine, Firepower and bunch other ones from 70's - 80's.

Starting to think the maybe the piercings guy may have been a buyback person? He seemed to involve himself with a lot of bidding, maybe I'm just being paranoid but seemed little strange now that I think about it. hhhmmmm

That T-2 was a complete turd. See, what happens when you own a store is there is always one game that ends up with all of the bad components from all of the other games on the showroom floor. The T-2 was that game. Oxidation all over the inside, hacks at the transformer, no skull on the pf. at least 3 of the 4 boards in the backbox were garbage... the driver board was missing all of the caps, the CPU was missing multiple chips, and the DMD driver was missing the horizontal caps. The translite was a repro. Sounds like a deal at 400 or 450, whatever it went for, but when you consider the $ it will cost to replace those boards... forget it! To its credit, the playfield looked doable, but you have to de-oxidize all of the metal, including the wireforms, and that is a pain in the ass.

I did OK... Ended up with one of the Wave Runners, a nice Drill O Matic (at a great price), and a Goin Rollin ticket dispensing game that I pretty much stole. Also bought all of the phone card pull tab tickets, which will be going to the local fire company (they use them for their fundraisers).

The vids were going wayyyyyy high for what they were. Problem was that there wasn't enough equipment there to bring the prices down. Too many bidders versus available equipment.

NO COMMENT on the Arcade Pirate guy that was buying everything.

I will go to the next one. Get some more equipment in there!

only the triple action sold...i had to buy back the Captain Fantastic $350 (working fine, new rubbers and bulbs) and Stratoflight (new rubbers) $225...way too low....

Guy with piercings did not buy back he didn't bring anything with him to sell. He went out and rented a u-haul and filled it completely I heard him talking and he was really happy with everything he got didn't have a chance to talk to him about what he was doing with it all...

Ended up getting a few good things at great prices for what I am doing with it as well.

Yeah, I was wearing the Callahan brakes shirt. The guy with the piercings was bidding a lot. I overheard someone talk to him about renting a storage garage. They were from Doylestown. Maybe they are gonna open am arcade.

Btw, the owner of the pinball gallery is bill. Really nice guy. I wish I knew there was so much representation from klov.

Piercings Guy

The Guy with the piercings is from State College I think and he is from KLOV pretty sure. His girl told me they were moving from there to Philly and opening an arcade in a few months. He bought a ton of stuff including a worthless soda machine.

Pirate is a different guy with the Shades and the Hat he is an operator out of Philly Delaware county area and a Dj. He has a lot of bars and clubs he runs. He bought back three games including the Kick and Kick with one bid, $100 and he had the Artic Thunder that was broke and busted up. I think TNT bought that. And one of the Need for Speeds that was needing a steering Pot. All his other shit sold but he bought like 6-7 other pieces. He usually buys stuff off me all the time for his bars. A lot of Deer Hunting and Golf games megas and stuff I snag from down south auctions. He hooked us up with the Microphone Setup and speakers. Thanks Pirate.
