any interest in Star Trek upright in SC before parting?

OK-
I guess I didn't notice before, but the bottom of the cabinet has some water damage. The very bottom underneath everything feels weak and flaky.
I am not a cabinet man and have no desire to attempt this repair.
It is a shame because the side art is very nice.

Monitor is beautiful (G08)
Boards play (slight glitch I think I can fix)
Controls look and feel good.

I am a cabinet man... I have fixed water damage from hell...

Do you have any pics of the cabinet? Is it a Converta-cab or a Deluxe cabinet?

Thanks.

i know it has the funny front door on it with funny lookin coin chutes.. does this help...its not the nice dedicated lookin deal with the rounded control panel..

It's a convert-a-cab. It has the two long coin mechanisms on the left and right of the front panel. The front panel is actually a door that hinges open. Inside, the PCB cage is staring you in the face along with the volume and service switches.

Trying to take pics tonight.

OK-
I guess it won't get parted. There's enough interest that somebody will come get it.
I looked over it tonight and took some pictures. I can't upload them until my battery recharges.

The very bottom looks the worst. The bottom of the coin door has some places where the veneer/vinyl sticker has pulled away and has a little swelling. The back of the cabinet has some nicks and stuff too.

It plays well. I cranked it up to a million with no glitches. I narrowed the video problem to the XY board with the RAM on it. Either a bad socket or chip select. Anyway, it works with a swap and I'm pretty sure I have a spare here I can dedicate to it (I was using a nearby Trek for testing :) ).

The sound is a little funky. All of the sounds except for the voice sound a little 'off'. Kind of like they don't have enough base or something. I know I don't have any working Universal Sound boards, so it'll have to go like it is. I do have some of the small amplifier chips that may correct it, but it would be at least tomorrow until I try that.

I'm very impressed that the video stayed rock solid the entire time I was messing with it. That's usually the weak spot in these games.

I'm also impressed with you guys that work with cabinets and restoring them. I've busted up games that you probably would lynch me for. I know for a fact that these Sega Vector cabinets are built like a brick house. You're making me feel bad for busting up a couple over the years.

Some photos-

I replaced one of the XY boards and it runs fine now. Got rid of some static by reseating sound chips. Still a few missing sounds. Will refer to manual to see if I can track down.

oh- and here are the pretty parts..
I guess once the bottom gets soft enough to swallow the leg levelers, then the sides start taking the load..

yeah yeah- I see the bum in the reflection, but don't you like the score?

I'm going camping tonight with my son, but will be back tomorrow afternoon.

Those of you who were interested, drop me an offer.
I think I communicated back with each of you.

Not looking to make a killing- I'll sell for less than the parts would go for.

Three month bump?

This has just been sitting. A few games have been played and some stuff swapped around to test out a Space Fury sitting next to it.

Actually, it looks pretty cool to have them side by side. Especially with the front doors hanging open exposing the guts.
