Any Interest in new repro Blank Space Duel, Gravitar, Black Widow type CPs???

The artwork is seperate from the panels. The artwork started off, from what I understand, based on the thought of using a Space Duel control panel (because it already had most of the holes) and making additional holes in it, which none of us really like to do if we don't have to. Shilmover is testing the fit of the CPO. It's pretty close, but a couple more tweaks are necessary. He will be the one to determine how the artwork will get released once it is complete. He already has a test print so it may be as easy as him giving the green light to the company he went through to allow other KLOVers to order it.

I'll add myself to the list for a blank unpunched one. I can make my own holes, once I decide whether to deconvert a cab back to Space Duel, or whether to leave it converted and make it something else...

I'm glad you posted you're thinking of about making these. Great minds think alike... I was just tell the guys at work this was going to be my next project. I was thinking about doing them without a pre order. I'm glad I didn't. That's one of the benefits of working in a Tool Shop, free tooling. Plus the press I would run them in is full right now with a die try-out. I'll move on to my next idea. I have that one already drawn up in MasterCam. I just ran a recurring job I do for MikesArcade.com this week, I was thinking of using the money off that one to seed the Control Panels.

If you do run them I might be interested depending on the cost.

I got the same confirmation on the ZVG. But nothing yet.

Wouldn't it make sense then for you to do it? Sounds like you are then man!

I'm would be in for a panel with holes punched for the Multi-Vector artwork and studs for the spinner and joysticks.

I may be in for two depending on price.

List Update

I posted a list of interested peeps on the first post. B=Blank, MV=Multivector, and ****** around either mean I wasn't quite sure. :) If I misrepresented, please PM me and I'll change it. It was hard to tell exactly what some people wanted by their post.

There is enough interest here to run this. Blanks are no problem in the same run as I just wont have the holes punched. I'd have to have a panel with holes punched in it for the MV layout so the spacing /locations are correct. I'd need a populated panel (spinner & stick wise to get the spacing for studs correct.

I would definitely go with either blank or quantum type... I have a tempest (which is vertical anyway, and most of the vectors are horizontal), an asteroids deluxe and star wars... so the trackball makes more sense to me than the spinner. I can use it for quantum, major havoc and even the sega games well enough.

retroACTIVE has a good point..

A trackball might be wise... vs a spinner. A small trackball.

What do you guys think? Replace the spinner with a TB?

What would be the max list of games for each?
I suppose the artwork could be modified.

Well as it is now it is a spinner. The hard template that shilmover has put together is with a spinner as is the artwork file. One can always cut the hole to accomodate a trackball once they get their panel and then provide their own artwork or rework the original art if they so choose and if spacies and shilmover permit it. I might just have to buy another panel to accomodate this option and then have swappable CPs! :)

The artwork is the most flexible part ... I'm sure we could get Barry and\or Spacies to help with a trackball version ;) Heck, I'd even pay them to do it. Anyway, for the interest of the choices given by this thread... I'll stick with blank... I'll cut my own holes for trackball, sticks and buttons... no prob :)

Since it looks like I can put my M Havok roller controller in it. Right at the spinner spot. I do the modification myself.
I like the spinner art on the overlay.
It works for me....
