Any Interest in new repro Blank Space Duel, Gravitar, Black Widow type CPs???

I agree on prepunching the multivector panels..

The zvg folks just sold 40+ multivector cards and have a interest list beyond
the 40. Maybe we could ask them for who they sold them to and hit those folks up? I know they collected emails.

I tried using those greenlee punchs on a metal panel once.. I must be drilling deficient because I could never get the bit to cut precisly where I wanted to make the pilot hole.. Things never lined up. The bit for button holes is pretty large as I recall.

Making a space duel replacement panel should be a big plus for most collectors.. I wouldn't want to ruin an original by punching holes for the multi-vector unless I have to.

If these were cut on a turret punching machine they would all be exact and punched out in minutes.

Has this option been looked at?

I used to work in a place that had a few of these machines, they can cut all shapes and any size holes to the 0.5 mm

I am in another country, so unfortunately that is no help here, other than the idea

I thought about trying to incorporate those interested in the ZVGs, but wasn't quite sure how to approach it.

A spring loaded punch is a great help to dimple the exact spot you want to drill the pilot hole. It guides the tip of the drill to stay in that small spot. Otherwise it gets pretty squirelly and is hard to control.

My sentiments exactly!

I'm not sure what the metal guy Takeman goes through uses, but the specific multivector panels would be punched already. Blank panels for those who wanted to customize to their needs.

If you guys can agree on a design/button layout and get me a template panel or a CAD file, I can get a quote.

On the greenlee punches, some of them have different centers that pull the cutter down, some are 3/8", 1/2" & even 3/4". So yes, soem of the pilot holes can be big. I just used a 1/4" bit for a pilot when then got out the unibit to make it the right size for the punch. If you use a hammer and punch to mark where the pilot hole goes, it should line up fine when applying overlay.....unless you marked the wrong spot :p

The metal shop I use is all state of the art equipment. I think most if not all is computer controlled...pretty fancy stuff.......NO idea on machine names tho.

I was reading your CPO thread, I can also have studs put in for the stick and spinner... That panel looks pretty nice......

I'd just email them and ask if they could provide you an email list.. they may be hesistant to give it out, which is understandable but you could then request they send an email out to their customer base or mention it in the
next communication they send out. As I understand.. they are arcade collectors as well.

They are still in the process of making the zvg batch.. I imagine they will
be emailing everyone at least tracking information when it is done.

Creating a standard Multivector cpo and metal CP makes it easier for people to contemplate creating a multivector.. and should enhance their sales for a future run of the product. So it would be a WIN WIN.

Oh I would also make a post on the news group Rec.Games.Video.Arcade. Collecting

I just shot an email over to a guy I had previously communicated with from Zektor.

Anyone belong to that news group that could post something referencing them to this forum post?

Im one of the 40 to secure a ZVG, I dont even have a Space Duel/Gravitar/Black Widow cab but plan to scratch build one.

Therefore, I am definately wanting a Multi-Vector CP pre-punched so count me in.

I'm in the same boat, but was planning to eventually have DPtwiz build one, along with a Major Havoc dedicated. :)

Yeah, having no extra holes in the CP for bolts is great. We will see if JB Weld holds... I may need to buy one of these CPs just in case. :)

I'm starting to work on a multi-vector... I'm deviating from the original artwork that is out there.

I will be putting a trackball on mine, and I'm adding a small analog stick (looking to get a commercial grade stick... similar form factor to the original) for tailgunner. I may forgo the spinner and use the trackball instead. I'm just not sure how good star trek and other segas would be with the ball instead of the spinner.

Day late and a dollar short, brother. I already got this market sewn up.

Mul-Tardi

Thats a crack-up!

Count me in for the pre-punched panel with artwork (maybe even 2 of them).

Price?

Approx. production time?

Any idea how many people are on the Zector waiting list?

I haven't placed an order yet, but will be shortly....

im all in!.. will this release or what? im in for one
I approached Takeman with the idea of a multi-vector panel to match the artwork in the thread linked below, but he wasn't sure the demand would be there. So to increase possible demand I mentioned that maybe the CP could be produced blank. That way one could make the holes in it as they see fit. The CP could then be used for Space Duel, Gravitar, Black Widow, or a multi-vector layout of your choice based on the CP from one of those games. So what kind of interest is there? The minimum run would need to be 25 panels pre-sold.

I'm in for a panel punched for the Multi-Vector artwork.
I somehow missed out on the last ZVG run (even though I 'purchased' at 3PM the day it broke out on here) but am assured I will get one when, and if, the other run happens.

Regardless... I will buy a panel and artwork. I'd even buy 2 if that's what it took to make this happen. I already have an empty Space Duel cabinet standing by.
