I am thinking about selling my FC Twin system, thought I'd gauge interest here before putting it up on CL. I'm sure everyone knows what it is but if you dont, its basically a modern system that plays both NES and SNES games. Looks like a 2nd gen. SNES system with 2 slots. Includes 2 controllers, or its also compatible with any SNES controller or other accessories like the mouse and super scope. I had also bought the FC Twin Light Gun to go with it but I cant seem to find it now, but I do still have the box for it. System also has the box, AC Adapter and AV Cables.

Any interest? Ill even throw in this extra Game Boy I have.

Emulation? It plays cartridges, it does not emulate anything. We sell them new at our store. They work good, the controllers that come with it are kind of crappy, but like he said, you can use real controllers. It's kind of nice to have both machines in one unit, they also make them that play Genesis, NES and SNES. I have one of those at home for when I want top play some random games quick but don't want to switch original systems back and forth.

I'm thinking $50 shipped USA. Only thing I've heard of is compatibility issues with a few games. Out of my library of about 200 NES games and about 80 SNES games, The only game I found issues with was Rad Racer II (which is also not compatible with my FC mobile for whatever reason). Controllers are basically just like SNES controllers but feel a little lighter. I use an Asciipad so these havent seen much use.

I would trade this towards an FC 16 Go (Portable SNES) or a RetroN 3 if theres any interest there also. Would also consider a Midway MCR SSIO or any MCR boardset with a working SSIO (my Tron needs one), a Ms. Pac-Man PCB or a 48-1 or 60-1 PCB.

maybe I chose the wrong word. I know very much about these because I have bought nes systems and snes systems and wanted one of these. I have heard the snes side of these systems is laggy and choppy and some audio is off. I heard this on MANY reviews. thats why I asked. I didnt mean emulation, I know they use the snes carts I meant to say how do they perform.

I havent noticed any problems with mine or any differences in game play, speed or sound. Rad Racer II being "glitched up" is the only issue Ive had.

What about SNES games which use the FX chip? That's where most of these types of systems seem to fall short. I remember reading about this one back when, but I don't recall the specifics these days.

Funny you should mention that, I just got done playing a round of Starfox on this thing and it plays fine, good enough to put me on the fence about selling this one now. Stunt Race FX also plays fine. I was thinking about getting the RetroN3 because of the controller support, but after hearing about numerous compatibility issues and different sound pitches with that one, I'm thinking twice. My FC Twin plays spot on (except for RRII as I already mentioned twice).

how does it handle Rad racer 2? Thats the game that determines me buying it.

Nah kidding, thanks for the response! Like I said I read a lot of crap about it so its nice to know from someone who uses it frequently.

I just picked up a SNES but it isn't working. If I can't get it to work I might be interested. That really isn't a bad price. A lot of places around where I live originally started selling them (also the 3x models) for $40 but now its like $60+ for a unit. It might not seem like a big difference but it is if you budget what you can spend on games.

I decided to keep it, seems these have gone way down in price anyway:
