I'm thinning out my console collection a bit. Initially I bought this unit off eBay just to complete my collection but it has never been used. I also have a copy of Highlander. Any interest here?

I would be up for some trading, mainly looking for old DOS games from Sierra, Lucasarts, etc and old hardware like a Roland SC-55. Would be willing to sell outright of course but I am not sure what a fair price would be.

I've had a slight interest in the Jag CD, but they can get up in price quickly and are fragile. At the going rate of regular Jags, I would say there is probably a lot of interest, especially if you find another collector that wants a complete set of Jag hardware.

I get tired of seeing all these "any interest" threads... I always have interest, but that's about it. I can never afford the stuff people are selling.

If it works, you're looking at least $100 easy on it at minimum. When I still had my jaguar main unit, I was trying to find a CD add-on; and a loose working ones would go for around $80-$100. Although I hate using ebay as a "price guide", the only two on there listed in box are $450 and $550. Fair price I'd be asking is probably $150 if you want to move it quick, $200-$250 for a decent price.

Completed listings for CIB are around $500 from what I see, actual sales not ones ended with no sale. This is NIB, $150 is one hell of a lowball...
Now that said, there are other boxed ones for less...so $500 is fairly high regardless of ones that sold past.

Put this thing on Ebay where it'll get the attention it deserves and into the hands of someone who actually wants it.

If I offered $150 for it, yes, that'd be a lowball. As I said, if he wanted to just move it quick, it would sell at that price. He can ask for more, of course, just was putting some sort of a price out there. Of course, I tend to price things lower just so they sell; but that's just me.

Holy eff...had no idea these were that expensive... moving on! LOL...

Jag was a horrible system, I think I've played mine maybe four or five times in the 10+ years I've owned it, and I've got 5-6 games.

Jag was a *great* system. From a horrible company.

I ended up selling this on eBay for $390 with a sealed copy of Highlander for the Jaguar CD. After shipping/fees I will have about $350.

That's about what I got for my Duo...still seems kind of low though, but I guess that's what the market would bear right now.

The market sucks right now. I was going to sell other video game stuff, like my NIB Virtual Boy + Games but with prices where they are right now I'm not sure.

I'm in the same boat. Collectible values just aren't what they used to be.

But I'm not sure I want to hold on to all this stuff long enough for the market to recover as even crammed into storage bins it takes up half of a room.

It would be interesting to see how much this stuff goes for in 20 years. But I bet by then most of it would be non-working and worthless. Or the target audience for those eras of gaming will die off rendering the same result. :(

Exactly why I've taken (literally) van loads of electronics to recycling, and sold stuff at pawn shops at an obvious loss recently.

I don't really need the money, I'm just a goddamn hoarder...and I've had enough of my own hoarding lol

This is a good point, but we'd be talking probably $10K worth of mint boxed games, many sealed, and really nothing 2nd rate in the lot. I have not a single beat up or incomplete game. And almost every console is modified (or I have copy carts for them).

What I do need to do however is gather up everything Gamestop will still trade in for and dump it on them next time they have 40% trade increase days. Too bad most of that stuff is sealed and I'd have to open everything to get them to take it... and then I'd probably take trade credit because their cash offers are too paltry. :(

I hear you on the feeling like a hoarder part though. I cleared $125K last year (a very fresh sensation for me I hate to admit) anyways so it really feels pointless to have such a difficult to liquidize 'nest egg'. :/

I plan on keep the majority of my collection but I am thinking about selling things that I bought afterwards as collection completion pieces. For example I never had a Sega Master System growing up but I bought a NIB unit 10 or so years ago that I am thinking about selling.

I can say for certain that if I lost my games and systems it would be next to impossible to find all of the games I have in the condition I have them in. I opened my games back in the cartridge days but I left the shrinkwrap on them opening just the end of the box to slip the game out. The manuals that accompany my games are in mint shape, no bends or tears. It is tempting to sell them though, I could buy another pinball machine with the proceeds.

I'm glad I sold the Jaguar CD and I am happy with what I got. I paid $75 BITD for it. That was another collection completion piece. I still have my Jaguar though. I find the above linked auction interesting, the seller states it has everything you would need to play although I do not see a Jaguar system in their only the CD unit.

What kind of things did you take to a recycling center?

You done good, really. Jaguar CD is trash IMO, can't think of a single game I'd want to justify buying one (hell even for the standard system I only have Tempest 2000 and Zool 2... should probably just ditch it since I have T2K on Saturn as well, but it is a neat little system and I'd still like to hack up some paddle controllers for T2K some day).

I've never played it. Always figured it was just the best game in an abyssmal lineup.

Besides I'm not a big fan of FPS-type games. Never have been (so, yeah, my 360 and PS3 are basically just holding my entertainment center down lol).
