I want to say the monitor needs to be Degaussed. But everything I've seen on it has to do with the colors. On my monitor there is like a black wavey shroud on the left side of the screen. It doesn't mess with the picture itself, it just seems to cover it in a black fog. Any ideas?

No clue. I doubt it ever was actually. The guy I bought it off has had it for the last five years, and I dont think he did anything with it. It was like this when I bought it. When he sent me pictures I thought it was just a cap issue, but this doesn't distort the picture at all. Its just a black fog over top the pictire on the left side that moves around. Most degaussing issues I've seen on youtube had to do with the colors all being out of whack.

Ok, here are some pics of what is going on.

So, does it need to be degaussed?

Has this monitor been capped?

I saw something extremely similar on a Tatung monitor that was in a MegaTouch. Wound up being two bad caps.

I doubt it was capped by the last owner, and he had it for 5 years. Its just that I have a couple of games that need cap kits installed and the monitors dont look anything like this. So I thought it might be something else causing it.

Recap it, if it's still there, report back.

That is capacitor related. (search "jailbars")
Common on something like a wells Gardner K7000...but you never did say what make/model monitor you have in there.

Its a WG. I have one machine that has the jailbars, but this doesn't look anything like that. Like I said, its like a wavey blackness over the picture. The picture underneath it isn't affected by it. Picture looks great all around, except for the blackness on the left.

Lol...easier said then done. I suck at recapping. I need to work on my soldering skills before I try to do this. Thats why I was asking what is causing this in the hopes it might be something else besides a cap so I dont go wasting all this time recapping it for nothing.

Yea, its a WG K7000 series. 25 inch monitor.

Recap it. ;)

If you want to take a stab and replace just the "one" capacitor... I'd go with C57 which is a 47uf 160v.
But generally you should just recap the whole thing if it hasn't been done recently or ever.
This will prevent all sorts of wonky failures down the road for a very long time.

Lol....well, I'm going to step up to the plate and learn how to solder and desolder. Well, learn how to solder better than I can right now. Last thing I want to do is screw up the board more than what it is. :D
